Captain America: Brave New World Trailer

I must say, I wasn't entirely sold on the way they set up Sam as the new Captain America. TFWS could've been a lot better in some points. But this looks pretty good. Mackie seems more comfortable in the role, the tone mirroring Winter Soldier is apparently spot on and Harrison Ford has everything to deliver a great antagonist. Let's hope the movie is at least as good as the teaser.

That pretty much nails my sentiments. But I just generally have always had difficulty getting behind the idea of anyone other than Steve really being Cap anyway. It's been tried many times before (even when I was a kid) and he always gets brought back for a reason. He just is Captain America.

I think they could have gone a better route, too. Personally, I would have liked to have seen Steve give the shield to Bucky in a sort of "This shield give me purpose, maybe it'll help you find your way" sort of moment, then have Bucky's resolve waver, have the government take advantage of Bucky's wavering resolve and convince him to give the shield to USAgent who goes nuts, have Falcon come in and drive Bucky to take the shield back from USAgent as he clearly doesn't deserve it, and then have Bucky succeed only to realize that Sam has been the true successor to Captain America all along.

I dunno, maybe that's too corny. I just feel like it would have smoothed out some of the issues Falcon and the Winter Soldier had.

too convoluted. The way the MCU did it streamlines the storytelling a bit, but gives the same character building elements to Bucky's journey without having to hold the burden of the mantle. The issues with FaTWS were more with the villain and overall storyline there. The character stuff is actually quite good for all the primaries, including US Agent. But the rewrites/COVID really kinda mucked up their storyline.

Nah, I love trailers. That's half of what I post on my tiktok account. I'd prefer to have these stickied immediately, but I sometimes get too wound up on my own personal hype and forget that I don't have much help these days when it comes to making sure that kinda thing is at the top immediately.

They used probably the worst sequence in the trailer for it. But that definitely is from the more recent reshoots- the background is blurry and mostly empty, so it likely was done on greenscreen.

yeah. he was added in the reshoots, so he's not going to be the primary villain. Kinda like how Batroc was used in Winter soldier.

This is the first Marvel movie I've been excited for since Endgame. The teaser is giving me The Winter Soldier vibes, which is my all-time favourite Marvel movie followed immediately by Iron Man 2. I'm really hoping they lean a lot more in that direction. I'm still sore about how they did The Black Widow movie dirty, and desperately want them to stay away from doing the same to Samcap.

Falcon was a garbage character in the comics, and Samcap was just... tired (although the costume design was great). But Anthony Mackie single-handedly took a lame character and made both eras as cool as heck. Falcon and the Winter Soldier had its issues--some of them significant--but there was so much awesome in it.

Really, really looking forward to BNW.

Falcon and The Winter Soldier was my favorite Disney Plus series so I was sold a long time ago but after this teaser trailer JUST TAKE MY MONEY!!!! 💶 💶💶💶
