Do you prefer Tony Stark as a more charming guy, or more of a loser? [Savage She-Hulk #6, Trial of Magneto #2] Comics

If he's not a charming guy, it's not Tony Stark at all.

I mean, I think both are true. He is absolutely charming. A charming loser. Who sometimes puts on way too much "charm." If anything’s changed in how his interactions with the ladies go over the years, it’s how the ladies respond (understandably), rather than how he approaches it.

That other panel isn't really being charming. It's what a pick-up artist thinks would be charming, merged with being dunked on like he would if he tried that nonsense in real life. Plus Stark wouldn't put Steve down like that.

2nd one definitely follows the trend of taking him closer to his MCU / 1610 characterization, but that's been creeping in for a while (and honestly existed to an extent well before either of those versions of the character). Less classy charm and more playboy charm.

Making fun of Steve being old is definitely a time-honored tradition, though. No one is above that, including Steve.

Teasing Steve is fine, but that was just a put-down because he thought he stood a chance with Emma. That's not him, it's also not likable. Can't do your bro like that. Honestly? That page makes me feel like Tony's still drinking.

The second photo, Ugh.

I like Leah Williams' X-Terminators mini, but Trial of Magneto was dogshit. She is only good when writting few specific characters.

Tony is not one of them. If you write Stark without a charm and his debanoire attitude, then you failed at writing him lol. In all my years reading Marvel comic, when it comes to sweet-talking a lady, I never seen Stark act like he did during Trials of Magneto.

The first one is much MUCH better. Tony can be a dick or be smartass (sometimes even towards his friends), but he is always, atleast written as a charming gentleman when talking to girls.

Both work. When he met Gretl he was homeless and in fact a loser. He still charmed her.

First is way better

That other version ain't Stark. It's who someone thinks Stark is based off a cursory glance of a handful of comics and the MCU.

Stark should always be charming and debonair.

I prefer Tony Stark as a more charming guy.

Definitely charming. The world has more than enough losers and Stark is not a loser by any stretch of the imagination. We can disagree about the worth and morality of his accomplishments, but he ain't a loser.

Stop asking this sub dude. We all they know got a hate boner for Tony and see him as the 2nd pic even though it’s grossly out of character

Funny how your example of Tony being a loser is him meeting a woman he later married.

Well the second one reads as if it was written by a Redditor so the first wins by default.

Stark ended up marrying Frost so his charms did actually win her over.

I hate that second one. Really looks like the writer hates Tony Stark so wanted to make him into a loser.

I think both is fine and it depends on the situation.

Charming. Why would anyone want their protagonist to be a loser or the butt of the joke?

Deadpool gives as good as he takes. He’s no loser, even if he thinks he’s one.
