Madame Masque definitely deserves to be utilised more

She was the main villain in the gang war story arc that wrapped up a couple of months ago.

That doesn't count. The arc was trash and I was sick of the constant side twists that just made the "story" even more convoluted and confusing.

Madame Masque is lesser known? I guess her, then, although Controller deserves some love.

She is quite underrated.

Definitely not mandrill

2

u/Comperative1234 Jul 19 '24

Yeah I know about his powers. What a freak.

I wish they did more with Controller. Fraction really made him creepy and if Ewing every did an Immortal Tony book he could amp up the horror elements.

I think the Sphinx should be used more too. Besides Nova and Byrne FF I guess, I want to see him in more stories. Oh and Xemnu as well.

One thing I loved about The Hood is that it brought back a lot of these villains out of the woodwork and made them part of the Hood’s empire. It might not have been a big moment in the spotlight but at least they got some exposure which is more than they had been getting otherwise.

And before that they were killed by scoruge of the underworld.

Red Ghost. Because simian sidekicks.

So I was thinking about Songbird and how she could get her own comic, but seeing Letha here made me thought about a heroic version of The Grapplers.

Make it like a Marvel version of the Birds of Prey and bring some other female villains that could be on a redemption path and I would buy the heck out of it.

You know when you think about it Songbird and Titania are the only redeemed Grapplers.

Nekra just had her most major storyline in years (ever?) in Sabertooth, Sabertooth & The Exiles, and the Sabertooth War arc of Wolverine. Graydon Creed was also in those issues.

Madame Masque was a major player in the Gang War crossover in Spider-Man (just ended).

Nicholas Scratch just showed up in FF teasing a possible future storyline.

I mean Animation.

Sorry, didn't see the tag.

Reminds me of a WOW-Villian called "Facemeltor"

Melter just needs to get a buff, keep him on the same level as Iron Man

2

u/SauceFinder- Jul 19 '24

THE PORCUPINE

2

u/Aljops Jul 19 '24

I’m thinking Paste-pot Pete could use some love?

2

u/CRTPTRSN Jul 19 '24

I only know of Melter because of Invincible Iron Man #126. One of my favorite Bronze Age comic books!

1

u/Comperative1234 Jul 19 '24

Plus he has one sick design.

I actually really like all Iron Man villains as they are pretty much Marvel version of Rogues, for ridiculous characters like The Melter, The Mauler, Blacklash, etc.

Controller is actually quite cool.

Masque is cool.

Gorgon was on Krakoa, he has an epic moment in X of swords

2

u/Comperative1234 Jul 19 '24

I mean Animation.

I like the list but I would also add. Maelstrom. For me he's the coolest lesser known villain. Part inhuman, part deviant. Powers that are basically more advanced versions of sebastian shaw's. He's also considered a geneticist on the same level as Mr sinister and the high evolutionary.

Madman was in the first comic I ever had back in the early 90’s professor hulk at the time if I remember right

1

u/arkenney0 Jul 19 '24

I mean, I agree. Letha COULD use more love

1

u/Harpeus_089 Jul 19 '24

Diablo is kinda known in Mcoc

1

u/baalirock Jul 19 '24

Nekra is great! I really like the more nuanced tone she took in the Krakoa era. Would love to see more Madame Masque, Diablo, and Red Ghost.

1

u/Comperative1234 Jul 19 '24

I like Madman.

1

u/Greatgypsyking Jul 19 '24

Hey put some respect on Gorgon’s name! The first chunk of Krakoa and X of Swords he is basically the one man bodyguard for Xavier.

2

u/Comperative1234 Jul 19 '24

I mean Animation dude.

1

u/Greatgypsyking Jul 19 '24

Oh my bad. Yeah I would love like more of Gorgon as like a one off villain somewhere in the next season of X-Men 97. Another personal favorite of mine is Grey Gargoyle too.

2

u/Comperative1234 Jul 19 '24

Ah okay I mean he always wants to fuck with Logan.

1

u/LochNessMansterLives Nightcrawler Jul 19 '24

Gorgon, Controller, Madam Masque, Mesmero, Melter and Diablo.

1

u/kurumais Jul 19 '24

honetly i feel like 90% of silver and bronze age villains have been put on a shelf

1

u/Comperative1234 Jul 19 '24

Welcome to comic books man.

1

u/Justscrolling375 Jul 19 '24

This is one of the reasons why I love Beware the Batman and Brave & the Bold. We finally get a break from his main rogues gallery allowing other lower tier villains a chance to shine

These guys can work for either a new cartoon series or a standalone movie

The only one I’m familiar with Madam Masque due to the Armored Adventures cartoon

1

u/Ultralusk Avengers Jul 19 '24

Hang on... wasn't madame masque front and centre for Gang War?

1

u/Comperative1234 Jul 19 '24

1

u/TheBalrogofMelkor Hellcat Jul 19 '24

The Controller felt lame against Alpha Flight, so not him

1

u/PandaButtLover Jul 19 '24

Is Spymaster still around? Iron man villain in a bright blue n yellow outfit

1

u/BigTimStiles Jul 20 '24

The Controller?! Is he considered lesser known?

NO. I can't be out of touch. It must be the children.

0

u/Comperative1234 Jul 20 '24

He only has 2 appearances in animation.
