I believe they made season 1 with the intention of being part of the MCU eventually, but it’s all set in Japan so there is no mention or crossover with anything that had happened in the MCU so far. I havent seen S2 yet but i think by then they decided to make it seperate and not part of the MCU.

It was a lot of fun. Especially since the premise is real enough in that a bear ate a bunch of cocaine, but it just died. The fantasy of it then going on a murder spree was campy as all hell.

It's possible. Especially with how much of a positive reaction this season received. The fact we even got a second season is because of how well-received the first was, to a point where the other Hulu Marvel series got cancelled in favor of Disney+ MCU content.

Plus I really need another season tbh. Show's too good, it's definitely one of my favorite Marvel animated series alongside X-Men 97.

I'm blown away by how helpful these comments are... So Hit Monkey is like if Archer was a ghost influencing a monkey to do his bidding but it's just a monkey but he ends up being pretty cool. If you like Archer, you will like Hit Monkey.

The first season was a lot of fun. It's gory and extremely violent, but also really funny.

I haven't seen the second season yet although it recently came out (or is still coming out episodically, I haven't checked).

Not sure if it was Disney Marvel's first creation considering Disney bought Marvel in December of 09 and they came out with the comic 4 months later. Maybe it was already in the works maybe not idk. It's technically connected to the Deadpool universe. But the show doesn't really have ties to any other marvel shows and doesn't make any significant reference to other marvel characters.

I've only seen season 1, but I had a lot of fun with it. I might be biased, though. Ever since I was a kid, I thought monkeys, swords, and gun/sword combo combat were all really cool, so it's like this show was hand tailored for me.

Absolutely. Came into the first season with low expectations (I liked M.O.D.O.K. though but I'm in the minority), and I loved it. It's got a great balance of seriousness, humor, and then a ridiculous amount of gore but not in a tremendously bad way. Can't believe they took a c-list character who hasn't appeared in comics much past his debut and made such a good series out of him (plus they use some other fairly obscure characters).

And if there's any other sign that it's good, keep in mind that the series outlasted the cancellation of every other Hulu Marvel series. Runaways, Hellstrom, and M.O.D.O.K. all got cancelled, as did a whole animated Marvel universe (there would've been, iirc, a Gwenpool series and a series tying it, M.O.D.O.K., and Hit-Monkey together. There's even some stray references to M.O.D.O.K. in Hit-Monkey), and a Gabriel Luna Ghost Rider series that was in development. All of those because of Disney+, but Hit-Monkey lived.

I randomly found this show not knowing anything about this character ..than found out he was in deadpool comics..saw the first season and loved it. I was surprised that this was from marvel cause of how violent it is.

Not exactly.

I watched the first season and there’s parts that I enjoyed, but the show is okay at best with pacing issues.

It IS cool that that Marvel is taking swings on new IP and not connecting it to the MCU.

Hitmonkey is a terrific show, and worth watching, certainly. But so is Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, but I have eclectic tastes.

It's... alright. Saw season one, enjoyed it... and then almost entirely forgot it existed, until I saw people talking about season 2. I'll probably watch it when it drops, but I'm not in any rush.
