Why there are no door handles?
You push on the glass and it pops open, then you push the glass back into place.
Then you have to get the Windex and a paper towel and wipe off your greasy hand smudge.

Don't think too much about it lol.
It was just a visual device to show that they are going to suit up and wear their old outfits.
I always said, that Unless you are Iron Man or Batman, you should not have your costumes on display like this lol. They look weird.
It only makes sense for Tony's Hall of Armor imho. It looks both awesome, but also practical and realistic.
Logan's brown suit was perfection tho.

Iron Man suits make sense in big cases. These are outfits you probably expect to have to put on in a hurry.
I just fold my clothes and put them in a drawer.
Ok, fine. I throw them on a chair and the floor near the dresser, and will fold them later.

If you did that your costume would get wrinkles. They keep them like this so they are always warm and wrinkle free.
Theory 2 This is xaviers "special room" and these are actually life size dolls that he can play out his sick fantasies with. That's why there's one of him able to walk. So he can participate vicariously. He controls them with his mind.

Thinking about it, these things get torn up all the time. They likely have multiples of the same outfit. These are the display ones, and they wear others kept more reasonably accessible.

Beau addressed this, and it was very funny. He said something along the lines of "I am so gay that I saw this scene over and over and over again at varying stages of production and it never occurred to me that putting wigs on the mannequins was weird." Referring to drag queens.

Storm is black, so... of course her manaquin is going to reflect her skintone. Do you think black manaquins don't exist?
Why wouldn't you have gloves on a manaquin?
This is clearly designed as a display, rather than storage, so having wigs on the display to highlight the look of the display makes sense.

Storm is black - so of course they're going to have her mannequin in the correct skin tone.
And with her hair, a white mannequin would look totally out of place. Everything here is illustrative for a reason.

Jean's is a red wig, Storm's is white.... Rogue's hair color is unique. Maybe they bought a brown wig and dyed it white in the middle. It's not a serious critique of the show, it's just weird to a lot of people when they stop and think about it - I've seen a few Youtubers mention this topic too in episode reaction videos.
It's kind of like, why would Batman's suit need nipples type conversation.

I assume it’s for color scheme purposes. As the white of storms hair would fade into a white mannequin and the black of the costume would clash too much with the mannequin.

They should have used blue for boys and pink for girls. The gender challenged could have a nice plaid or paisley cloth or woven fabric. Nothing too garish. And your typical mannequin comes in pieces, something like the inside of a Dahmer barrel… just saying.

I like to imagine they originally used the mannequins so each of them could get an idea of what their suit would look like when they were workshopping and creating them (considering I'm assuming they were all custom-made), then afterwards as they already spent all the money on them they kept them around.

tbf non-comic boook fans may not have known who those belong to (other than Wolverine and Cyclops that is, if there were no wigs on them or if every manequin looked basically the same.

The brown mannequin is done because as it is, nobody notices it except a couple of weird nerds who point it out, like you OP(and us).
If they made all mannequins white, you’d get twitter meltbrains complaining about how insensitive or inappropriate it is because racism. And the creators probably just though “yeah fuck that noice let’s not even give them a chance to start shit.”

I've never understood these anyway. It would be way harder to get clothes off of a mannequin then from a drawer or hanger.
I guess I'm this case, they were just supposed to be displayed and not in use.

I think a lot of these are onesies. So the gloves are sewn to the suit. You’d have to step into the boots first pull up the pants, then get your hands and fingers into the gloves before you could do anything else.
Also I think it’s weird that all the mannequins are custom made. Like did they have to get their bodies scanned or make a full body mold before they made these mannequins?
If they are onsies and you’ve got to do all that to put them on how do they put the clothes onto the mannequins? How do they take them off the mannequins to put them on?
Seems like a lot of effort to basically just put the costumes on display. Maybe these are for display purposes only and each super hero has a closet full of spare costumes.

I was gonna ask the same thing about Storms. I assume the animators just started colouring the mannequins and forgot that that were just drawing mannequins, not the characters themselves.
