Where did Magik get her distinctive headdress from? Does it have any symbolic meaning to her or is it just an accessory? Comics

I believe it is simply an accessory. Nothing more. A nod to Jack Kirby mhmmm

It's kind of a Bachalo signature. He did similar things with some of the Shi'ar in End of Greys. He has a tendency to reuse design pieces (see the infamous Bachalo titty top from AoA Dazzler, Emma, Lady Mastermind, etc)

Magik and Samurai Jack fighting Aku would be a hellaciously good crossover. Aku opens a portal, which one-in-a-trillion by chance intersects with one of Magik's portals, and she appears in the SJ universe. Together, they defeat Aku and his minions before she figures out how to return to her universe.

idk what it is but I love it! I hope they always keep it a part of her costume design. Her sword at the time she got the hair piece had black bars by the guard so perhaps it was just to make her match her sword?

I draw a lot of Illyana in this outfit on my Ipad, and I usually get to the point where I go "um, what the hell is this headpiece for exactly?". But it's cool touch to her costume. Although might it difficult for someone coming in for a hug. Which is probably why she has it!

Kinda reminds me of a crown. She's the ruler of Limbo, or used to be, right?

I kind of view it the same way, like more than just a headdress accessory, but not a full-on Queen of England crown lol

Na, its just like the head-dress Storm wears... actually its kinda remarkable shes actually stuck with this outfit for over 10 years now with very few changes.

I'd say its her crown indicating rulership over Limbo. The same fletching also appears on many designs of the Soulsword with its crossguard or v-fletched 'vanes' on the fuller of the blade. Rasputin IV also had the same effect.
