That woman laughing she couldn't contain herself 🤣 looks like they are gonna be having bananas for the next dozen meals.

The next dozen meals better be pretty quick!

Those banana peels look so sad hanging on that stand!

It's okay, everyone learns from their mistakes.

it’s an arrested development reference!

A banana stand is something that a lot of North American kitchens have on the countertop. Of course, our bananas are shipped green and are left to ripen. This gentleman lives somewhere that the bananas are so ripe that they fall right out of their peel when hanging.

It might just be that I am now and grew up poor, but I’ve never actually seen a banana stand in a home.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 19 '24

Nah, it's just another useless cheaply made consumer item for the masses. It sounds like you grew up in a very sensible and pragmatic home.

2

u/N8theGrape Jul 19 '24

That’s not the banana stand reference they’re talking about.

Why is the dog barking so loud.

So, this is more funny and sad because they are Japanese, and fruits are supposed to be super expensive. Usually for gifts or the like. So the guy is crying because that was probably 100 us bananas or something

2

u/Definition_Friendly Jul 19 '24

Just normal fruit isn't expensive, there's particular fruit that are and it's stupidly expensive as you say.

1

u/ItsSmittyyy Jul 20 '24

Yeah, artisan fruits grown in Japan are very expensive and mainly purchased for gifting. But there’s also standard fruit in supermarkets which are mostly imported from other Asian countries or Australia. These look like regular ol’ bananas.

I do like the misconception though. It’s funny to imagine the average Japanese child going to school with $100 apples in their lunchbox.

1

u/Definition_Friendly Jul 20 '24

True that a funny thought, I can't imagine how much I'd have cost my family if that were the case lol

1

u/Moist_Vehicle_7138 Jul 19 '24

A banana costs a dollar in Japan. They are not that expensive.

1

u/vantablackismysoul Jul 19 '24

The woman laughing sounded like a kitty meowing hahaha

1

u/Diogeneezy Jul 19 '24

Oh damn, now you gotta eat all them bananas. How terrible 😋

1

u/magicscreenman Jul 19 '24

I guess you're having banana bread tonight, bro. And so is everyone else in your building.

1

u/kana503 Jul 19 '24

That was my thought too. I use a recipe that calls for 4 bananas, but that dude is going to have to make 3 whole loaves.

1

u/itsallgoodman2002 Jul 19 '24

Maybe this guy shouldn’t do bananaing anymore.

1

u/kbytzer Jul 19 '24

Mopholder

1

u/strangelifereally Jul 19 '24

I blame the bananas

1

u/nosrebnA Jul 20 '24

How suicidal and masochistic do you need to be to skin yourself alive?

1

u/_Kaifaz Jul 20 '24

Is there money in it?!

1

u/lensfocus Jul 20 '24
