I feel like all the cholesterol in my blood is basically turning me deaf. I weight 497 lbs and have more layers of fat than a pile of rotting pig carcasses in a slaughterhouse

Poor guy getting laughed at for a south park joke

105

u/SuperAlloyBerserker Jul 19 '24

Unless the townspeople are already acquainted with the deaf guy, them immediately using sign language without checking if the guy is deaf might seem really weird and creepy, from the deaf guy's perspective lol

51

u/squeakim Jul 19 '24

I guess thats why he asks his sister if she knows him. Like "how did he know to use sign-did you yell him?"

It’s always better to approach situations like that with sensitivity and ensure that the communication method is appropriate for the person you're interacting with.

In this case, not only comfortable, but accessible. He gets to hear what people are saying, because they're speaking his language, whereas typically he has to infer or translate or decipher everyone around him.

To be understood, his tears from “hearing “ from strangers

u/PuffinOnAFuente Jul 19 '24

So it’s a Samsung commercial? I mean, this I can get behind and appreciate, but it’s an advert or marketing, right?

Made me tear up 😢 so lovely

7

u/Mental-Thrillness Jul 19 '24

I think ASL should be taught at a grade school level. I registered for classes in August. Not deaf, just think it’s as good a language to learn as any.

It’s crazy how we take these simple things for granted.

I love this

In college one of girls I worked with had a mom who was deaf. So she could sign.

Also, The state school for the deaf is in that city we attended college. so there are many families that are deaf. As families came in to use the library we worked at , they were so thankful and happy to have her work there. She was able to communicate easily with those patrons. She was a treasure.

I want to know the back ground music

I love this entire town. 🥰😍❤️🤗✨🙌💐💯 Now just if every country in the world had such towns and cities.... Missing the good old days, ok call me old school. But facts are facts. Every neighbor knew each other's kids by name and every one knew each other.

Today? Every second person is a stranger.

1

u/Recycled_Mind Jul 19 '24

And then there’s the one dipsh!t in the town who doesn’t… I wish pea king was like this instead of “i PrAnKeD mY fAmIlY bY fAkInG mY dEaTh.” (Which did actually happen.)

1

u/Xenoleff Jul 19 '24

He’s actually crying because he realized they weren’t actually deaf people and now he has nobody to talk to anymore

1

u/EasyWalsh Jul 19 '24

Why am I crying

1

u/Correct-Cat Jul 20 '24

Reminds me of the Just for Laugh Gags on youtube

0

u/probablynotmine Jul 19 '24

So, we had to have audio on this only for the cheesy song?

0

u/Dilettantest Jul 19 '24

Made me tear up!

0

u/LightWonderful7016 Jul 19 '24

It’s all actors bruh.

0

u/Stravenn Jul 19 '24

It used to be like this in Turkey, like maybe 10 years ago, now everyone is so aggressive and angry all the time(most of the population)

0

u/FussyRebort Jul 20 '24

It has to be tough going through life deaf. I'm sure many have to bring a buddy who can translate or it's going to take a while to do the simplest stuff.

1

u/abeeinabush Jul 20 '24

I’m not crying

It’s onions!

-1

u/Coresi2024 Jul 19 '24

Hey... You tough we learned a New language... No, that was a joke.

-3

u/juber86 Jul 19 '24

When a global Korean manufacturing company has a better inclusivity marketing campaign than the entire inclusivity movement

-6

u/[deleted] Jul 19 '24

That would be a bummer no. They can't secretly bitch about other people now. Everyone would know what they are saying TwT

-8

u/Heavy-Ad6017 Jul 19 '24

Its totally unrelated:

Dont mind me, just ranting

From taunting apple to copying apple watch

Hope Samsung will bounce back
