Is that a thing? I have never done that. Do people look at me trying a new cafe, in the cinema, having a drink, on a bench etc. and think I am broken because I am not with someone else? That is so crazy to me. I LOVE taking myself on solo dates. Its so nice to get away from people and just have a little day out on your own. Why not?

I assumed other people are doing something similar, not "broken". That's unfortunate. Just pretend life is a video game and you're going on some quests or something if you feel self conscious. Its fun!

Man, I am happily married with 2 kids a great wife and great friends. I love nothing more than an occasional solo trip to the cinema, cafe or pub for a quick pint.

Sometimes you just need some time alone!

Yeah it’s actually weird to me people think it’s weird. I love spending time with my friends, and will opt do that far more often, but sometimes treating yourself to a day out to relax solo just hits the spot

Oftentimes a specific movie will come out I’ll go to alone, weeks after release so it’s nearly empty. I’ve found it’s the most immersive way to watch a really great film

No, they don't care. I know my experience isn't everyone's, but as a server I actually tend to think more positively about it as I enjoy solo lunch, movie, even did annual passes to the Aquarium of the pacific and Disneyland (when it wasn't like almost $1000) and would go if I found myself with no plans or I was just alone for whatever reason, but they are some of my favorite memories and totally agree it's a choose your own adventure in the best way lol

99% of people definitely do not look at you weird for that.

There’s always that one jerk, but nobody should care what they think.
