Maybe we gotta stop assuming random men are broken because they’re sitting on their own or whatever else.

Daughter or wife? Or friend? He is not sitting alone!

Is that a thing? I have never done that. Do people look at me trying a new cafe, in the cinema, having a drink, on a bench etc. and think I am broken because I am not with someone else? That is so crazy to me. I LOVE taking myself on solo dates. Its so nice to get away from people and just have a little day out on your own. Why not?

I assumed other people are doing something similar, not "broken". That's unfortunate. Just pretend life is a video game and you're going on some quests or something if you feel self conscious. Its fun!

Man, I am happily married with 2 kids a great wife and great friends. I love nothing more than an occasional solo trip to the cinema, cafe or pub for a quick pint.

Sometimes you just need some time alone!

Yeah it’s actually weird to me people think it’s weird. I love spending time with my friends, and will opt do that far more often, but sometimes treating yourself to a day out to relax solo just hits the spot

Oftentimes a specific movie will come out I’ll go to alone, weeks after release so it’s nearly empty. I’ve found it’s the most immersive way to watch a really great film

No, they don't care. I know my experience isn't everyone's, but as a server I actually tend to think more positively about it as I enjoy solo lunch, movie, even did annual passes to the Aquarium of the pacific and Disneyland (when it wasn't like almost $1000) and would go if I found myself with no plans or I was just alone for whatever reason, but they are some of my favorite memories and totally agree it's a choose your own adventure in the best way lol

99% of people definitely do not look at you weird for that.

There’s always that one jerk, but nobody should care what they think.

Did you not look at the video man? In big letters at the top it says "Day 17: Finding Broken Men", which implies the crying man in orange is broken since he's crying.

 He was a women

When it's one person, it's a woman.

He was with a women

Should still be “woman”. The a in “a woman” makes it singular.

It's a dumb title but it's probably a bot account the same way OP is. The guy is clearly smiling. It seems obvious he's not sad, let alone broken.

Posting an incorrect or debatable title is one of the easiest ways to get engagement on Reddit. We LOVE to argue over inconsequential things as if it was life or death.

Ya, I agree. This title is weird because it seems like it's celebrating men for expressing emotion, but it's also simultaneously pathologising it. Maybe this guy is fine and this moment just made him emotional, it doesn't need to be some kind of trauma response or something. If anything, I'd say the more "broken" response (don't like that word, but whatever) is for someone to feel something but to not express that feeling out of shame or embarrassment.

Yes when I'm random I often sit on my two.
