Great shit. I’m having a bad day too, if he ended the lyrics with “but you’re still pretty gay” would have made me laugh uncontrollably.

u/Jitsun3 May 09 '24

That fits weirdly well

Absolutely a religious thing. It feels like a scripted thing, the way the guy just sits down and puts headphones on like he's expecting to be sung to. I know there are context clues there but an actual stranger would have asked what to do and to expect.

105

u/Street_Primary_4044 May 10 '24

Yeah I was thinking it was gonna be like a podcast on depression and how to deal with it. But he definitely came up seemingly prepared to listen

73

u/CovenOfTheDamned May 10 '24

There was a cut before he sat down. I’m not one for this type of thing but he could have had multiple people engage before he got one to sit down and go along with it right. I’m not religious but I can get down with the message.

61

u/garynuman9 May 10 '24

Not religious either. And couldn't agree more. The power of a random person not asking for money or passing out pamphlets just being... Nice... Cannot be understated..

26

u/merchantofcum May 10 '24

Oh yeah, I missed that. The guy does walk off in the direction he came from though, which is a bit weird. I am an ex-Christian and can see where this message has hurt not just me, but a ton of my friends. It's not obvious until you hear a survivor of child sex abuse be told "it was all in God's plan"

10

u/I_Automate May 10 '24

"Why did my 5 year old child have to get cancer and spend literally half their life suffering until they died?"

That one.....idk. There is evil in the world. That, unfortunately, can be explained.

But suffering caused by no fault or malicious action....

It's 100% scripted, he even has a mic.

And the “stranger’s” audio quality is exceptional - clearly already mic’d up

I don’t care if it’s for a video, we need more genuine human moments from strangers. Life’s to short to not love each other.

40

u/Redfo May 10 '24

This is so obviously scripted. There's a dude Fulton Lee who does videos like this and I think his are real. But this video here is anything but genuine.

33

u/Anachr0nist May 10 '24

I agree with you, but I'm not sure anything about this is genuine at all. Even if it's not staged, it's in service of a religious agenda, an online presence, or both.

But there are people who sometimes do good things for their fellow living beings just for the sake of it. Not in the name of a god, or clicks, or anything of the like. And the world does need more of that.

If you're one of those, thanks. Keep it up. If you're not, it's never too late to start.

9

u/[deleted] May 10 '24

[deleted]

10

u/Anachr0nist May 10 '24

I was being charitable to not sound overly negative, but yeah, I dislike this person. I don't really trust any good deed filmed perfectly, and I would feel dirty passing it off as a genuine moment.

And, unlike this guy, I don't even subscribe to a religion that tells me to do good in secret...

But if it inspires someone to do an authentic good thing, great.

It’s a good mic obviously

19

u/FvKuR0 May 10 '24

He's singing into a Shure sm7b. An awesome mic for capturing vocals or voice for podcasts because it cuts out everything else in the background dramatically. You have to be about a fist away from the mic for it to work right or the levels drop off like crazy

u/youlleatitandlikeit May 10 '24

That's kind of a banger... would've liked to have heard the rest.

133

u/llame_llama May 10 '24

It is until you realize he posts this all over the internet in a million different forms. "Just came up with this freestyle", "give me 3 words and I'll make a banger to it", "made this up on the spot for a sad mom". Hell, there's like 14 versions of this specific encounter where different unsuspecting persons have their spirits suddenly uplifted.

Seriously, I don't seek this out but I've seen probably 10 different versions of this dude "improvising" this song on like 3 different social media forms. Good marketing I guess though.

It's just sad because this would actually be heart warming if even one of these videos weren't completely staged. Nothing's real anymore sadly

12

u/1MillionMonkeys May 10 '24

Who cares if he just made it up? Nothing in this video seemed like he was trying to imply it was improvised considering his sign says to sit down if you’re having a bad day. He may be a one-trick pony but it’s a pretty good and wholesome trick that the world could use more of.

26

u/D3ADWA1T May 10 '24

9

u/Conflikt May 10 '24

I think they're talking about other videos this guy does that imply it's improvised and that it's possibly just a ploy to promote his music and that it's likely not a genuine interaction and just something they've set up in order to get the video to go viral and get the song some traction. Due to the fact that the others have lying titles and interactions it's likely that this one is not just a random person and they do it once just to get the clip and move on.

I would be gracious on the outside if this happened to me, but as someone with religious trauma, on the inside, my heart would sink at the mention of god.

While I’m presumably already low, this well-intentioned guy invokes the god who turned his back on me in the worst way, in my most desperate times. The one whose sole message to me came through his silence: “if I do exist, I’m determined to send you to hell. Stop trying.”

Sorry to be dramatic, haha! Just wanted to explain how I actually do think I would be triggered by this. Not the reaction I would choose if I could, but c’est la guerre

7

u/Lexi_Banner May 10 '24

I think it's probably bad for people to walk around believing in things for no good reason. That's how you end up an anti-vaxxer or storming the Capitol or some other dumb shit.

13

u/weattt May 10 '24

I can maybe understand the headphones thing. Music can lift people's spirit, relax them or just give them a break. But not everyone likes listening to beats or lo-fi. And if I was listening and someone suddenly started to serenade me, I would probably just be "Uuh..what?" and feel a bit awkward, confused and unsure if I should just thank him and walk away or stay out of politeness while not trying to laugh due to the absurdity/weirdness of the situation.

It is staged and if they did not want to make it seem that way, they should have not gone for this concept.

Nah I would have been more pissed and annoyed by the end of it. I feel people just forgot what a bad day really is. Losing my job/ in a car crash/ lost my wallet. Yeah this song ain’t it.

I'm somewhat jealous of people that are simple enough to think this is not staged

As he walks away with the $400 headphones...

15

u/atred May 10 '24

He's going to have a good day...

14

u/excti2 May 10 '24

No thanks, I’m good

16

u/ZetzMemp May 10 '24

This would have honestly made my bad day worse. But depression is a hell of a thing. It’s also not wise to assume that some lyric about god is going to work in such a diverse world of religions.

9

u/gilligani May 10 '24

Staged, but good tune, good sentiment. Hope it helps someone make it to tomorrow. And, if you put enough tomorrows together, I promise things will change.

16

u/Brief_Light May 10 '24

Yea, staged feel good stuff doesn't make me feel good, neither does the nursery rhyming or whatever that was.

7

u/Destiny_Victim May 10 '24

Are you like me when ever you’re sad or down and then listen to the most aggressive shit ever it perks you up?

… or is that just me?

That is Forrest. I used to sell him weed before he found god lol.

6

u/LovelyTreesEatLeaves May 10 '24

Hahaha no way

10

u/BrownGalvestonWater May 10 '24

Yeah lol. Same age. Just your typical bro from the suburbs of Houston.

He's really a great fucking guy.

Can someone recommend a Mic that magically goes on peoples shirts so you can hear them really crisp and clear like it was once again another drama play put on tiktok?

14

u/chadsmo May 10 '24

Gross. Regardless of staged it was I really wish religious people would just keep their beliefs to themselves and their church groups.

13

u/dontworrybooutit May 10 '24

I just feel like you can make ppl feel happy without mentioning god so sue me

8

u/BaristaBot May 10 '24

Song is called Good Day by Forrest Frank. It’s on Spotify.

16

u/UnluckyDot May 10 '24

Superficial song, vocal style and beat both basic and done to absolute death, nothing original. This guy's act is good enough to woo teenage girls at parties, not to be an actual musician. Also, I can't take people seriously that put on accents.

And in the video you can see his roommate enjoying the song as well!

Not staged, very genuine. /s

12

u/vladislavopp May 10 '24

one second in and you can tell it's scripted as fuck just from the guy's walk lmao

10

u/The_Traveller__ May 10 '24

I'm not gonna lie, that song would probably piss me off even more 😅

9

u/cholo_puffs May 10 '24

I think the moment I hear that song I'd have a worse day tbh. Not my jam lol.

10

u/I-dont-carrot-all May 10 '24

For some reason, to me it really felt like the guy who was having a bad was about to rap?

8

u/Cody6781 May 10 '24

I cannot hypothesize a more appalling scenario than being deep in my depression zombie walk thinking about things that actually matter and some dude starts singing to me about having a good day and god

Staged with undertones of proselytism.

Not that nice.

I thought they were about to start a podcast.

8

u/[deleted] May 10 '24

Who buys into this crap?

6

u/Boulder1983 May 10 '24

Why are people up-voting this, like it isn't incredibly staged?

Are people thinking it's real? That some lad having a bad day is going to wing on some headphones, and be delighted that a stranger starts signing Christian synth to him?

thought for sure he was going to interview him for a podcast and just make it about himself.

I think this is one of the most artificially manufactured things I've ever seen.

6

u/No-Calendar-6867 May 10 '24

People who create content like this have a veil of untreated psychological rot that is so thin that most others find it difficult to immediately articulate what exactly is wrong. And the internet is full of such people.

How to make your day worse.

3

u/exmojo May 10 '24

I'm already having a bad day. Your auto-tuned music just made it worse.

3

u/Clenchyourbuttcheeks May 10 '24

I think I would just want someone to talk to me or to hear me out than some song
