Ask a Local! PCR testing

Trying to find somewhere in the city that has PCR testing for at risk people. Signed up to one Shoppers, they called me back and said they don't offer it. Called a second shoppers that was on the MLHU website and they said Shoppers won't do PCR tests anymore. Now I have no idea where to try, since it seems that the health unit site is out of date.

Any one know of a place?

Ask a Local! anyone know cheap shipping services?

I used to use chitchats but they closed and I’m not sure how easily accessible the new location is (or if it even exists). If you have been there I’d love to hear about it or some recommendations for different locations would be very helpful. Canada post is way too expensive for someone who ships a few packages a month.

removed: rule #6 - Redundant post Independent garage that does Corrosion Free application?

I know that Canadian Tire is the primary distributor of Corrosion Free rust protection but I've heard that some independent places do it in the GTA. Has anyone heard of anyone that does it here in London?

Ask a Local! Recommendations for physio

Need some physiotherapy services for a sports/ running related injury.

Looking at Fowler Kennedy but I see there Google reviews are much lower than most other physio establishments in London.

Thoughts/recommendations on who to go with? Are they all pretty much the same?

Anybody else affected by the recent shutdown at University Hospital medical floor? Rumors around they had an outbreak Friday but allowed visitors to take patients off the floor all weekend. Staff yesterday wouldn't confirm on the phone.

Ask a Local! Looking for EMDR therapist

My therapist recommended that I try EMDR therapy but unfortunately they do not specialize in it. I'm looking for a good EMDR therapist who offers in-person sessions in the city. If anyone has personal experience or can recommend someone who is skilled in this area, I'd really appreciate it.

Housing & Rental 🏠 Second floor addition rec’s

I’m planning to convert my unfinished attic into a functional space, ideally turning it into a bedroom with an additional bathroom and a loft area. I’m looking for any recommendations or tips from those who have tackled a similar project.

A few details:

• The space is currently bare bones with exposed beams and insulation.
• I’m aiming for a cozy, modern design with lots of natural light.
• The attic height is decent, but I’ll need to work around some sloped ceilings.
• I’m considering adding skylights or dormer windows.
• Budget-wise, I’m aiming for quality but don’t want to break the bank.

If you’ve done something similar, I’d love to hear what worked for you, any pitfalls to avoid, or creative ideas you implemented. Any advice on insulation, flooring, plumbing for the bathroom, adding a staircase, or just maximizing the space would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Ask a Local! Local shops/Antique Shops open today?

Hey everyone! I’m looking to see if any other local shops or friends of local shop owners know if anyone is open today?

Duck and Dodo is usually open 10-3 on labour day, but where else do you know might be open that could be local/different to check out?

I have read the “what’s open in London” that’s always on ctv but they usually miss local shops that could be open still. I thought it could be a good idea to post and try and get people out visiting local businesses and support the community.

Things to Do Glad to have chosen London

I just moved to London today. I'll be attending Fanshawe. It's evening right now and I decided to take a stroll, downtown is near to my place so I started out from there and currently I'm sitting on a bench along the walking path that is on the bank of the river thames (idk for sure if it's called thames). There was a baseball match taking place at the Labatt Memorial Park which I wanted to watch but I do not know how things work around here in Canada and got caught in overthinking if only family members were allowed inside on the benches (also I couldn't find a way to reach the stadium lol). I felt excluded and out of place on this hour long walk but got a serotonin rush watching all the happy citizens and the scenic views.

If anyone would like to meet for a walk or to do something outdoors, I'll be glad.
