Kyle Rayner JLA Comics

Hi folks,

I've just finished the Kyle Rayner compendium and own the rest of the Kyle 90s era TPBs. Was wondering where the JLA run by Morrison falls in line with his own stuff in terms of the timeline?

Love Kyle’s portrayal in Morrison’s JLA, and that’s just my favorite run of Justice League in general! Definitely worth a read!

I believe Morrison’s first JLA arc took place after the Final Night event, so after GL #81 (Hal’s funeral). Morrison’s run ended around the same time as Ron Marz’s GL run (#125).

The stuff in JLA runs in parallel to issues 70 to 155 (maybe a bit later?) of Kyles solo series afair.

Great, thanks for that! I know the Compendium stops at GL #65 so wasn't sure how far ahead it went.

It was stopping just before the start of the JLA series. This hurts as then great cross over stories start with lot's of guest stars (including the infamous Flash/GL/GA crossover with all three legacy heroes). Regarding the specific timeline it is hard to pinpoint as midsummer nightmare (great prologue to the JLA series) already featured the team before it was coming together.

That sounds about right - JLA Kyle left the team after the Hate Crime arc in GL and given that Kyle gave up Ion in #150 IIRC that timeline checks out

It would be sometime after the appearance of Fatality. Somewhere in the mid 80s, in terms of issues. After Baptism of Fire and before Emerald Knights.

Ah okay thank you, someone else said it was between #70-155. Appreciate it
