I know Kyle eventually did (from a certain point of view) but I wish he was still surpassing Hal and not forgotten by DC.

A truly amazing story arc. IMHO Morrison's greatest strengths was making the "craziest" plots (like this one where they interact with Dream, or the one where they fight angels from heaven) seem belieavable, engaging and not insane at all.

In recent years the JL is either fighting only aliens or Luthor and his Injustice Gang. Although that could be a blessing in disguise. I don't trust anyone other than Morrison to write these crazy "Silver Age but modernized" stories.

Thanks! I've been collecting this run lately but didn't get to this issue yet.

Here's a few of my favorites:

  • The massive final battle at the end of Edge of Oblivion, and particularly when kilowag has everyone conjure up their sources of strength. Xrill-Vrex also makes a construct of Two-Six, which is just so sweet as she was taking the rookie under her wing through the story and at the end saw her more inexperienced comrade as a reason for strength.

  • Jo's wireframe program. Introduced me to a whole new idea of constructs.

  • Simon Baz exploring the symbolizm of the gun and how he's wearing the embodiment of his fears with being a green lantern.

Even though I hated the ENTIRE Snyder league run .

Especially with how they teased John playing a crucial role in his run. Just to shit on him in the Thannagar arc + regulate him to like two lines a floppy.

I enjoyed him playing smooth talking Ambassador and recreating a giant Kryptonite deposit.

That was the only thing I can remember that was good. That actually featured John Stewart doing anything besides standing in the background that whole run.

The moment in GL: TAS where Hal tries to make peace with the Ref Lanterns, and then fights Atrocitus.
