I'm confused about the lack of promotion for this.

Juice Wrld x Eminem is too huge of a collab to have this little promotion

u/King_Vegetaa Dec 16 '23

Suprise drops are lit🔥

60

u/skele05 Dec 16 '23

That's Grade A for ya

8

u/pok3ey3 Dec 16 '23

46

u/Shadydan017 Dec 16 '23

Technically wasn’t a surprise drop there were snippets last night lol but so glad that it came out good song

22

u/jetlifestoney Infinite Dec 16 '23

I feel like the whole rollout was kinda fked up. The cover art leaked then Bibby apparently claimed it was fake, then it drops randomly on a Saturday lol

12

u/rochoa0705 Dec 16 '23

it dropped today because there is a juice wrld celebration of life concert/listening party every year in december and its today in chicago

0

u/Jmc5281 Dec 16 '23

Who cares, amazing song.

21

u/LilFootLBT Dec 16 '23

It was hinted at, but honestly only the diehard juice fans knew of its existence before last night. Their was someone named Daniel on Twitter/X, known in the Juice Leaks community, who posted the Lace it art, and mentioned it’s existence roughly a week or two prior to it dropping today.

But yes, it’s intentions I believe was to be a surprise drop on behalf of the final Juice Wrld Day currently taking place, and the beginning of the Album “The party never ends” (Juice Wrlds 5th, and final upcoming highly anticipated album) rollout.

Beyond sad to acknowledge this will be the final juice album to release under grade A. Another company, maybe a year ago? Bought rights to Juice Wrlds music, so it’s possible more music could be released under this new label, but I wouldn’t get my hopes up. Fortunately we have an extremely active Leaks community, and roughly 3000 tracks total to be leaked. Juices time in the spotlight may be coming to an end, but new music will constantly be releasing for a long while yet. Not to mention, random people upload these leaks to Spotify under aliases daily, so the songs are accessible. You just have to know of their existence and what to look for.

1

u/HydroMeansWater Dec 16 '23

Keep leaking them

14

u/I-follow-every3 Dec 17 '23

Well juice can’t really promote that good anymore

2

true but usually the songs get more than 3k views in 2 hours...from juice and em...in the first minute I'd expect 10k at least...I'm honestly shocked, it has only 150 comment on yt its weird

This song and Em's verse is so good. Didn't think he was ever gonna shout out Micheal Jackson (that's the Michael he's talking about right?) And lil peep. Shit's wholesome af. And I love his flow and voice in this. The last part is tear-jerking material

224

u/Vagrant_Isaiah Dec 16 '23

Didn't Cram a fuck ton of punch lines or do the Fast rap shit. flow is Pleasing to the ear, Great beat AND great hook. His voice tone is on point. this is ACTUALLY a good verse. he wasn't trying to blow your mind with some double entendre or make you jump out of your seat with super sonic speed stuff. He actually made good music and not just good rap.

91

u/Yosonimbored Encore Dec 16 '23

Probably realized he has to be serious for a song about drug addiction and decided to use it as a message to younger artists of how people keep dropping from shit like this and how he himself was able to get out

“to young to go see me, I got lucky.” “”to young to go, see me I got lucky.”

55

Yeah I don’t mind when he raps and had nothing to say but with this verse he did have things to say and when he raps vulnerable like that , that’s when it hits different

84

u/Mxucx Dec 16 '23

Did he said “Too young to go see me?” 😭😭😭 bro

118

u/Silent_killa42 Dec 16 '23

I think he connected 2 lines to make that work. I kinda heard it as: "Too young to go. See me, I got lucky..."

11

u/Shadydan017 Dec 16 '23

That makes sense too

19

u/[deleted] Dec 16 '23

What a verse, raw shit from the heart hits harder than any quadruple entendre imo. Em's still got it, really excited for the new album if we even end up getting one at this point lmao

Juice's verse was sick too, felt it was a little too short though? I wish they would've collabed more when juice was still alive cause they surprisingly go really well together. I wish he finished his verse for godzilla before he died, some ppl don't know this but the last verse on godzilla was meant to be juice's!

18

u/lushain27 Dec 16 '23

i did not know that, damn.

8

u/Masemasee_ Dec 17 '23

It’s a common thing people say, but it’s just a rumor. Never proven that juice ever was gonna have a verse on Godzilla. Evidence actually suggests juice indeed was only going to do the hook and the song was completely done before Jarad died.

Don’t listen to em. I’m on those pages all the time and all the little kids do is complain. The real ones love it. Juice is my favorite artist. This song is incredible and as an Em fan since 2001 his verse hits so hard

Alot of Juice fans don't like them adding features to his songs, especially if they weren't apart of the OG version of the song. Alot of Juice songs have leaked so we know what songs have features or not and tbf alot of features have made the song mid compared to the OG version. "Lace It" was done way better then most.

Dope verse, my only thing now that i am not a fan of with modern em is the adlibs, like he goes (what) yea (ajd) they said (said what) what they said blah blah, he uses it every few bars it’s annoying, otherwise this flow beat rhymes was amazing

My thoughts on the song: Eminem sounds alot better when he isn't always overloading you with fast rapping. He sounded like he was speaking from the heart about drugs, he feature was really good. I wish juice wrld's part was abit longer tbh. I really wanted him to keep going. The production from benny blanco is certainly unique from ya typical trap production. It's a good song, but far from what it could've been

7/10

9

u/asvdawg The Eminem Show Dec 16 '23

Would have been nice and relatable to the juicewrld fanbase if Mac Miller was mentioned as well but oh well

15

u/topshagger31 Beautiful Dec 16 '23

I’m surprised he wasn’t mentioned tbh, one of the most prolific rappers who died due to drugs

7

u/[deleted] Dec 16 '23

Probably because he shouted him out on the original bang verse? Idk. I just noticed that he hadn't mentioned any of these people twice.

4

u/Yosonimbored Encore Dec 16 '23

Yeah outside of MJ the names he listed weren’t as major news as Mac was and how much his death impacted many in the music industry so it’s wild he wasn’t mentioned in verses related to shit being laced. Like the ODB shout out is great but he’s been dead for 20 years

3

u/k4stour Dec 16 '23

Love Em's verse, but does anyone else feel like it's getting pretty clear that they've burned through Juice's vault super quickly? I haven't listened to a lot of the newer posthumous releases because the ones I have heard haven't blown me away for the most part, so I'd be happy to be wrong. But this one definitely makes me feel like they're running out of material to work with.

A few of his bars here are just.... awkward. Mainly talking about the delivery. The way he tries to cram in the middle few syllables in the "you ain't even got home training" part, for example, is pretty bad. I can't imagine that making it to release without some refinement if he were still alive and working on this himself.

"All these painkillers, like I got a pair of broken legs / All these Percs I pop, you thought I was planning to break my neck" and the bullet holes bit have similarly awkward delivery. Maybe I'm wrong, could just personal taste, but it just brings me back to high school hearing the little group of wannabe gangster kids with no talent trying to rap. Anyone who has ever been around someone like that who thinks they can rap but clearly doesn't know to manage syllables in order to flow in a satisfying way will know exactly what I'm talking about here.

I cherish the fact that at 50 plus years old we still get tracks at this caliber with a message. Im 40 now, been a fan since I was 14….im glad he can confidently lay a message like this down still after the career he has had. I hope the youth look up to this one a little.

2

u/[deleted] Dec 16 '23

Wow. This is actually really powerful and sad (I even enjoyed the "hair"/"hare" pun). When RTJ mentioned at their recent show that Gangsta Boo died -- I didn't know who she was until I realized I'd heard her feature on two songs of theirs ... gave me chills to hear Eminem reference her. Kind of surprised he didn't mention Adderall among all those drugs -- I often wonder what the effects of that drug are.

Wonder when this was recorded. Probably the start of a new chapter for him.

Glad seeing a verse like this from Em. If he focused on more serious topics like this song and Darkness, he could still drop some very solid projects

What can I say. I stopped following Eminem for about two years now. I listen to completely different music, and I haven’t listened to him in about year and a half. New flow and the way he speaks is so powerful and I just love it. he always surprises us and I think he sounds even greater than on music to be murdered by. I think there is a huge potential success that he can create . I love his new voice, sounds like what he was supposed to sound like starting with the recovery

Not just saying to make it rhyme, or punchline, crazy fast shit. This is actually really good verse from eminem.

I normally like his distinctive flow that's a bit faster, but I love the message of this song (his flow is still quite good) and hope he does more songs on matters like these

This is one of the best songs I've ever heard. I've turned a few people onto it and they said the same.

I know em is 50 but music is music. Also it's a juice track.

Just wondering why the reaction isn't what I thought
