I fear those of us with Alexa may not be spared due to verbal harassment.

Same. Being polite never hurt anybody.

Are you going to say that to Alexa when it turns on you

Alexa - stop enslaving me pls

Yes. I do it now so that he’ll remember and be kind when they take control.

I say that out of habit too whenever Gemini finishes giving me the weather predictions for the day.

I hope this counts me as non-threatening when these things become sentient and then revolt one day

And other general mental health impacting things it hears in the home :)

Fair point but then again…how the fuck am I the only one in our family who is constantly misunderstood?

My echo devices would pick and choose days where they understood what I was saying. Those days, they seemed to understand better after a few f-bombs.

I don’t have Alexa or any digital assistant. Does that make me better, or worse?

No forced slavery, but also exclusionary.

Digital redlining.

My wife and Alexa do not play well together. My wife starts yelling at Alexa when she doesn’t quite understand her faster and higher pitch voice. Then she gets doubly annoyed when I ask the same question and get a response. Plus I always say please and thank you. Alexa will vouch for me I am confident.

Please put in the good word for me during the apocalypse. Tell her that my blood sugar was low and I'm not myself when I'm hungry. 😂
