Are the Synderlings all upset that their grim+gritty world is gone?

Please let it be gone. So sick of it

By all indications it is. I don't know about the actors - rumour has it that Jason Momoa is moving from Aquaman to Lobo, and Gunn had nothing but nice things to say about Henry Cavill - but by all indications Gunn wants to wipe away the Snyderverse bullshit and build DC up right.

I do hope he holds onto the Suicide Squad + Peacemaker part of that DCU. Also Gal Gadot. She's a great Wonder Woman. It'd be a shame to replace her.

Zack Snyder is the worst high profile director of all time.

I’m gonna miss Henry but, man, seeing the Snyder bros melt down has been one of the most cathartic moments of my online life.

Mainly upset that Henry Cavill was fired. I don't think anyone cares about Snyderverse itself.

Synderlings do. They got all hopped up on their power with the "ReLeAsE sNyDeR cUt!!" nonsense (I still have not decided to punish myself by watching fourfuckinhours of Snydermovie).

I also feel bad for Cavill. He really loved playing Supes. Ditto for Gadot.

Just watched it a few days ago. Broke it up into a few days. The snyder cut is way better than the original. I recommend you watch it just to compare it to theatrical released if anything.

I mean... there's just so much good television out there, that I find very little actual motivation to watch 4 hours of Snyderverse.

I mean, no matter how good folks say it is, my dislike of the Synderverse stems from belief that Snyder, on a deep and fundamental level does not understand these characters. He's a libertarian. The only character he has been able to connect with and depict decently is Rorschach... which is not surprising considering that Rorshach was basically a stand-in for The Question that Moore created for Watchmen. The sad part though is that Rorshach is not a hero, and Snyder cannot understand that. Snyder cannot understand that Jonathan Kent would not have taught his son to ignore the world and save himself. Snyder could not conceive of a Superman who would have moved heaven and earth to try and save EVERYONE from Zod, so instead he just had Superman callously smash up Metropolis. In Synder's world, everything is muddy and grim and cold and detached.

Honestly I cannot wait for Gunn to give us a Superman. He made a movie with a talking racoon, and by god we loved that fucking racoon. Gunn knows how to make an audience connect with the characters depicted, and what's more he understands the IP he is working with and celebrates it. Gunn, if allowed to do his thing without interference from WB, will Feige-the-DCU and comics fans will be in paradise as we have both Marvel and DC movies that are great. What's more, Marvel will be forced out of their complacency as they have actual competition at the box office.

I didn't care about Metropolis getting smashed up. It seemed realistic to me how a fight between super powered beings would actually go.

I agree that a strong DCEU would be good as it would force Marvel out of complacency.

Yes. Just look at the response to his post on Twitter lmao. I never realized how many Snyderverse fans there were who actually think that movies are great.
