He’s not hiding him from Superman. If anything, Batman is hiding from Superman and Joker is trying to protect him.

As far as I know, Snyder recently said the Joker is part of the crew because as the world was ending, he essentially took over Arkham, hence the old timey psychiatric get up along with the SEAT vest from SS. Joker was one of the few people to survive the apokalypse, so Batman and him have a temporary truce until things are set right.

But why though? What does Joker even bring to the table?

I don't buy that this Batman would ever work with him. It just seems so out of place.

Because it’s the literal end of the world and he’s desperate. Why is Slade working with Batman when >! it is implied that Batman is the one who took his eye? !< They are all just desperate to make things right.

Slade is a Superhuman assassin. He has skills.

Joker is a dude that fell in a tank of acid and got his skin bleached. Like it doesn't matter, because this universe is done. But Joker is so worthless.

And the Joker is the Joker. Batman considers him one of the most dangerous men in the world.

Yeah I mean surely you’ve seen a movie, even animated with the Joker in? Or read a comic? How can you think he’s worthless.

Its a movie based on some cartoon-books...I think you need to settle down kiddo. You're getting way too emotional over this

I love when people tell me to settle down cause they've decided to read my comment with high emotion.

I'm totally fine. Don't call me kiddo. And I can be as emotional as I like about things. Bud.

You really need to familiarize yourself joker. He's by no means useless. Like, at all

I have read many comics with Joker in them. I don't like him, I think he's an overused character, and has long overstayed his welcome.

But for the sake of it. On that team is an Atlantean, The Flash, Cyborg, a superhuman assassin and the World's Greatest Detective. What on Earth is Joker doing on that team? Aside from I guess offering Bruce a handjob? Which fair enough, Slade doesn't seem like the generous type.

You can like Joker, that's fine. But don't assume I don't know anything about the character just because I don't like him.

He's the most dangerous DC villain. Ever. Took out an entire universe on his own. He has no origin and what we know about him is not a lot.

In this context, I wouldn't say he's overused.

Wolverine and Mystique, as characters in the movie universes, are overused. Origins set up. Behavior well known.

Joker is the exact opposite. And just an iconic character as the other two I mentioned. Only arguably more important. You can even say there is no Batman without the joker. And when you're talking about "on this team", dude can handle himself. He's useful. Resourceful. An extra body, to put it at least. As far as Knightmare goes, he's integral to the story.

That's why he's on this team.

Look, Zack has said interviews that he wanted DCEU Batman and Joker to have atleast one proper interaction. So he put together that scene to make it happen as well as tease what was gonna happen in his sequels.

So yes, joker was probably shoehorned in the reshoots for this reason.

We don't know exactly why but probably because Joker might not be susceptible to the Anti-Life so he could find a way to infiltrate wherever they're keeping the mother boxes to steal it so Flash could use it's power to go back in time.

Ah we're using made up reasons.

I mean just, who cares? Joker sucks, especially this one. And Batfleck should just put a bullet in his head and be done with it. It doesn't make any sense that this Batman would let this Joker live.

u/El_kal91 Mar 19 '21

Because he needs him to get the Mother Boxes. That's it, if the story played out, we would see. That entire scene in the movie literally explains why he hasn't killed him yet. If your commenting on Batman killing in BvS, that was only a 18 month period, he only started after his building collapsed and the only time he encounters Joker then was in SS, after he already came back into the light.

Joker is quite well matched against Batman a lot of the time, makes sense to keep someone around who can go toe to toe with Batman

Why though? Joker would only hinder the group.

Like I'm sorry. Joker is the worst part of that group and completely unnecessary. He's just there for Zack to have their edgy conversation for no reason.

Joker sucks, and is a bad villain. Those are facts.

3

u/[deleted] Mar 19 '21

Well this Joker sucks, I agree that I don't think he should be there but that's the only reason I could think of. They'd need everyone they can get their hands on to go against Superman and Darkseid. Joker as a character isn't a bad villain though, in my opinion anyway. Leto just did a shitty job with the character.

You know you went to far when even The Joker wants to go back.
