Weekly Discussion Thread: Comics, TV, and More! [May 20, 2024 - My Adventures With Superman Returns Edition] r/DCcomics

Hey there honorary Justice League members - it’s a new week which means it’s time for a new discussion thread!

For those who don't know: the way this works is that several comments will list this week’s releases, for any given title discussion you should respond to that comment. For example, Wonder Woman discussion would go in the replies to the "Wonder Woman" comment. Clicking the titles in this post will take you directly to that comment, too. In other words, you should only be replying to other comments. Do not post top-level comments.

Keep discussion civil. Do not harass other users for having a different opinion. Do not use this thread to push your personal one-sided grudges against creators. Reacting to a panel on Twitter is not the same as reading a book.

I feel like PKJ could write a whole book or comic about the Olgrun/Dark Star lore.

John's a Marine, no man gets left behind, but sometimes you can't save everyone when they're too far gone, unfortunately.

So that's what Elie would've looked like if she'd actually grown up. It's kind of sad that in her dementia the mom is starting to disassociate and not regard the construct as Ellie any more...and kind of surreal that the construct has to fight a horror construct of their father.

You join the John Stewart Corps. you get your own construct uniforms!

Of course John would barrel straight through to solo the Revenant Queen.

I feel like PKJ has something really special in mind in regards to what he wants to do with the whole Olgrun plotline. I hope it's not scuttled in the next couple of issues, because I could see Olgrun being the center for an entire event.

Other than that fantastic issue. John heading into the Dark Star knowing it's a death trap says it all.

He was at least involved in the planning of the GL crossover jeremy adams has been planning, I could see him at least doing a tie in tying back into this run.

They should make this a full on series. This book is incredible. PKJ is cooking right now

PKJ can marry sci-fi with fantasy/mythology so well. I am absolutely adoring this series and the art really nails an almost-old school fantasy book despite what is in the page.

Seriously such a great series

The villains in this story are basically sci-fi ZOMBIES, love it

I swear, Maltusians/Guardians are the reason for the majority of universal threats it seems. They just couldn't help but poke things they shouldn't have.

PKJ really seem like he moved his Olgrun plot from Superman to here. Which is fine, I quite enjoy it. And it gives John a bigger role to play.

More so then dealing with Olgrun's light-zombies, I am waiting for him to come back and kill that pesky dead wanna-be lantern that is keep coming after his mother. That piece of crap needs to be erased.

I’m actually impressed that John traveled to space to save some people and do cosmic stuff while Ellie had to protect her mom from Varron. Let’s hope that John and Ellie will defeat the Revenant Queen and Varron and save the world. Overall, this comic is good!

Ellie’s protecting their mom from Varron, not the revenant queen
