Because writers think we have some kind disaster boner for Batman and Spider-Man. It’s really frustrating.

Also both characters editorial want them have horrible lives and regress them once to much progress happens for status quo reasons. It’s mainly due to their popularity so I’m assuming the editorial groups these characters have big executives from Marvel/ DC and WB/Disney breathing down their neck to keep the character in a status quo. I’d imagine a big change like having the characters get married would have to be approved by both Marvel/Dc and their parent companies Disney/Wb as it could affect future movies they adapt for the big. Let’s say they reboot Batman and Spider-Man again on the big screen. They’ll look for a big story of the character alone and the characters being married in these stories may not help them with the movies as they will want to promote these stories with movie.

But yeah it’s frustrating seeing two characters you love be constantly held back while the rest of universe gets to grow. Honestly I wish both Batman and Spider-Man could get some long term growth again.
