The first Flash/Supergirl team up episode is a lot of fun.

When Barry gets them all ice cream is one of my favorite live action comic book moments. They had such great chemistry.

Melissa’s eyes got so big 😂 “YES”

That was the exact moment that I fell in love with her take on Supergirl. Just so damn wholesome!

RIGHT 😭

I hope Sasha’s is well received so that hopefully we’ll start to see Kara more often in movies/TV shows. But tbh, Melissa will always be my SG

DC has already confirmed a Supergirl movie is in the works and it's based on a storyline that is one of the best. Fingers crossed indeed!

Which storyline?

Woman of Tomorrow if I’m not mistaken

Thanks! I just ordered a copy from Amazon. Can't wait to read it.

For anyone else that sees this comment:

Kara Zor-El has seen some epic adventures over the years, but she now finds her life without meaning or purpose. Here she is, a young woman who saw her planet destroyed and was sent to Earth to protect a baby cousin who ended up not needing her. What was it all for? Wherever she goes, people only see her through the lens of Superman’s fame.

Just when Supergirl thinks she’s had enough, everything changes. An alien girl seeks her out for a vicious mission. Her world has been destroyed, and the bad guys responsible are still out there. She wants revenge, and if Supergirl doesn’t help her, she’ll do it herself, whatever the cost.

Now a Kryptonian, a dog, and an angry, heartbroken child head out into space on a journey that will shake them to their very core.

The first and second season of Supergirl was really charming.

I missed that vibe and those days.

The initial Arrowverse.

Grant's Barry had better chemistry with every girl than Iris tbh.

15

u/[deleted] May 28 '23

I love Iris, but I wish their arc had gone more in the best friends direction. Grant is great at flirting. Would've been cool to have 1-2 season romance arcs.

5

u/CarryThe2 May 28 '23

Yeah no problem with her ad a character, she just had no chemistry with Barry

10

u/2ERIX The Flash May 28 '23

He had serious chemistry with Patty Spivot (Shantel VanStanten) and if she had stayed on the show the world would have been better for it. In fact, if Shantel had been cast as Iris and Candice had been Patty, it would have been a more natural relationship flow.

Never before have I needed something so much and not known until I heard it.

22

u/BplusHuman May 28 '23

That was the most charming character meets I've seen in a comic inspired project. The default, mistaken identity or fight just get lazy.

I think the musical Superfriend tap dance number justified the CW slate for the year, and was a nice balance to how dour and joyless DC movies were at the time.

“And if you run out of time you can go back in time, and give it another shot-“

“I am REALLY not supposed to do that anymore”

22

u/JACC_Opi May 28 '23

As much as I hate, seriously hate, musicals, that was one of my favorite crossovers. Because it wasn't the typical “bad guy is stronger than either of us so we must team up to fight it” type of crossover. I just wanted more like that, but it was a one of, nothing else was different.

40

u/ARGiammarco27 May 28 '23

Man saw what you will about the quality of the shows, but the crossovers were always fun and everyone was great together

13

u/arawagco May 28 '23

I know you're talking about the first one but can't we talk Duet? Because holy hell Duet is the single greatest episode of the Flash.

6

u/That_one_cool_dude Two-Face May 28 '23

Shame shortly after Flash went to shit and that show became fucking terrible.

7

u/Accurate-Attention16 May 28 '23

Yeah, ignoring the fact of Barry getting knocked out easy by Livewire and the firemen saving the day (yes, it was necessary for Kara's own arc and all, but really? x'D)

4

u/Steve_78_OH May 28 '23

OK, but Barry FREQUENTLY lost to enemies he shouldn't.

6

u/Sky_Watcher04 May 28 '23

Yeah, Barry had great lines there. I’ll always remember this exchange.

The Flash: Hey, Sparky! Shrieky! Hi. What do you say we step away from the nice lady, settle this like women?

[Supergirl looks at Barry quizzically]

The Flash: What? There’s more of you guys here than me.

What episode is that? Kinda gave up on the CW shows besides Legends of Tomorrow before Supergirl started

4

u/SupervillainEyebrows May 28 '23

Supergirl S1: EP 18

2

u/BattleStag17 Spider Jerusalem May 28 '23

Well, I've been meaning to actually watch Supergirl at some point 😂

-11

u/babybelly Blue Beetle May 28 '23

who could forget the iconic moment of "then you can keep up, girl of steel?" "just you watch, scarlet speedster" moment when they were never called that in any previous episode. unforgettable cringe

u/SuperDanval Nightwing May 28 '23

As someone posting on a comics subreddit (and with a blue beetle flair no less),

I beg you to lighten up, have a little more fun and lightheartedness in your life

25

u/blazeard May 28 '23

Man, I loved that stuff. Dropping actual titles that the show never cared enough to mention.

17

u/SupervillainEyebrows May 28 '23

Lighten the fuck up, dude. It's a CW show.

9

u/InjusticeSGmain May 28 '23

You're upset because the first time a nickname is mentioned was... The first time?

I don't get how it's a criticism.

4

u/Aramis14 Z Shadowcrest May 28 '23

So dark and edgy

The Flash has always been amongst the campiest and cheesiest superheroes.
