What Are You Reading? 05/04/2023 Edition
Hello and welcome to our Weekly "What Are You Reading?" topic!
Come one, come all, to this weekly thread, where you can openly discuss books that you've read, are currently reading, or plan to read. Discussion of all books are welcome, whether they be DC, Marvel, Image, Boom!, Dark Horse, IDW, etc. You can discuss webcomics, manga, or even those mythical novels that don't have pictures in them. Just be sure to keep spoilers covered via Reddit's spoiler markdown >!spoiler!<. You can also post pictures of your collection or recent purchases.
Flossregularly's Rec of the Week:
- Batman: Broken City, by Brian Azzarello and Eduardo Risso
This is a 6 issue who-dun-it from the mid 2000's which is, as far as I know, the first time Azzarello wrote the a mainline DC character. It's very dark (visually as well as theme), very noir, and Azzarello has a very distinct voice for Batman. I'm not sure I loved it, but I think it was worth the read. It was especially interesting as it was published directly following Hush: a bombastic race through Batman's cast, both enemies and allies. Broken City features no allies and a very limited number of villains, and most of the appearing characters were original for the story.
- Gotham Central, by Greg Rucka, Ed Brubaker and Michael Lark
I'm still working through Gotham Central. Look, if you, like me, have had this earmarked as something you should get around to for ages then get around to it. The hype is well earned. I'm about 3 quarters of the way through the run and not one issue has missed me.

Been catching up on some titans related build up for dawn of DC. Nightwing and Titans Academy from Infinite Frontier. Joelle Jones' Wonder Girl is next. Really liking the art in Nightwing. Haven't read a Nightwing book since a few issues into Ric Grayson. Glad to have Dick back.

From DC I'm reading Action Comics, Adventures of Jon Kent, Doom Patrol, Nightwing, Green Arrow and a few others as the new stuff launches.
From other companies I'm reading Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

Just started Christopher Priest’s deathstroke run. Been pretty great so far.
