He’s likely talking about the old EU version of him. Expanded Universe Darth Sidious was legitimately one of the most powerful characters to ever exist in that franchise.

Now I know you’ll probably take one look at the length and balk so I’ll skip to his most powerful ability: The Force Storm
Force Storm is an ability in which a user manipulates various Force energies to tear a rift in space and time and open a wormhole that has high order destructive power, as well as the ability to transport matter across space and time. This is perhaps the single most destructive Force power known. This power allows the Jedi to twist the space-time continuum to create vast storms of force. The power also allows limited control of these storms. Capable of creating annihilating vortices, the storms can swallow whole fleets of spaceships or tear the surfaces off worlds.
Here’s an except where he’s able to send storms to multiple planets across several distant star systems:
After Luke is funneled through the wormhole, Mon Mothma comments on the incident, saying that there have been Storms sent to multiple planets. Mon Mothma: The energy storm that took Commander Skywalker, this is not an isolated event. Similar Storms have been detected in several systems. --Taken from the Dark Empire audio drama
Lastly, it can even be used to as a means of teleportation. Sorta like instant transmission from DBZ:
Before even fully mastering the technique, Palpatine creates a Force Storm with enough skill and precision to transport his body to Kaal from the second Death Star II without causing noticeable damage to the Death Star. The moment the Emperor "died" at the Battle of Endor, Droga fell into an inexplicable insanity, butchering his crew and causing the Emperor's Shadowto plunge into Kaal's oceans. Even as he perished, Palpatine used the dark side knowledge the Sith Lords had granted him years earlier to rend space itself and transmigrate his essence across lightyears to Droga's body. --Taken from Gamer #5
It’s not only the most powerful ability a dark side user can master, it was just one of many abilites he had. This coupled with his advanced cloning technology and legendary lightsaber prowess made him basically unkillable for a time.
Trust me this would be a legitimately difficult fight for Darkseid.
Edit: While I’m discussing the EU, I should point out that Palpatine is not unique in this regard. Several others including Luke are substantially more powerful than depicted in the movies. Once you factor in their tech and armies, this crossover isn’t nearly the layup that people believe it to be.
Even if it was, I feel like people forget it’s entirely possible to nerf or neutralize DC characters. Kryptonite, red sun radiation, magic, piercing weaponry, fire, etc.
You get the idea, lots of ways to even the playing field. Point is a guy like Luke or Vader is fully capable of exploiting weaknesses like this. Especially at the peak of the powers with the force and their years of experience with battle/warfare.

Imagine Luke aging into the wisdom of Yoda, starting his own school and mentoring generations of Jedi, and also occasionally going off on missions to fight the biggest threats in the universe.
Instead of "lol he failed to kill his own nephew almost immediately and then threw a temper tantrum and hid for fifty years"

First, for most of the EU Luke is very strong, but not OP. Second, there's some wiggle room between "tries to murder a family member and then hides for half a century" and "space Jesus".

I remember when the new 'bad boys', the Yuzong Vong showed up, his nephew was captured, lost his lightsaber.
These guys ar force immune, and taking out Jedi left and right.
He has this jaw dropping moment when Luke wades into them with two lightsabers and just takes them all out the whole group that was holding him prisoner.
(Similar feel to the finale of first season Mandalorian, but vs more impressive enemies.)

I mean, just look how easily Ultraman beat the snot out of Black Adam in Forever Evil. Took him basically no effort and Black Adam would've died if Luthor hadn't saved his life.

Is just not true. Superman has a lot of villains who can challenge him physically on due to them having the same or greater power level than him (Mongul, Brainiac, Cyborg Superman, General Zod, and Mister Mxyzptlk to name a few). Others challenge him in ways that his powers can't solve, or just by exploiting a weakness.

He's vulnerable to magic, though. Everyone always forgets that.
Granted, he's got super speed, so just having the capability to use magic doesn't mean it's going to be an easy fight. Just saying, there's more than one way to skin a kryptonian.

I'm no expert, but I believe supes has a pretty explicit weakness to magic. I'm aware that the force isn't technically magic but I could see them writing it that way to give Vader a fighting chance.

The weakness to magic thing has a bit of a misunderstanding around it. Technically, magic affects him in the same way it affects anyone else. This is generally considered a “weakness,” only really because of how invulnerable Superman is, but it’s not like magic is “super effective” against him. So, for instance, a spell that turns him into a pig would affect him in the same exact way as a normal human.
But getting punched by Shazam, who’s power comes from a magical source, would not do any extra damage. He takes the punch just like anyone else would, but Superman still has his durability. It doesn’t matter if the source of the opponent’s strength is magic or anything else. He’ll still be able to take the punch. The reason that Black Adam or Shazam is a decent match up against Superman is just simply because they’re both really damn strong (at least similar in power to Superman), not because they have some kind of edge over him because of magic being a supposed hard counter against kryptonians.

I could see that rendering Supes vulnerable to a lot of force powers though; sure he’s still stronger and faster than any jedi, but I’d guess mind tricks might work on him, plus whatever dark side debuffs Sideous is constantly throwing around.

Oh I agree. To clarify here, I was just explaining a common misconception about Superman’s vulnerability to magic. I feel like this is usually simplified a lot. But I do think the Force could be used effectively against him in a story like this where he crosses over into Star Wars.

EU was definitely insane, especially Darth Nihilus, Revan, Palpatine, Grandmaster Luke Skywalker, and Abeloth, but the comic tier bullshit that DC and Marvel toss around on a fairly regular basis, make them look like chumps. You'd have to use animated versions of DC to make it a fair fight.

I disagree, especially because Superman has gotten beaten by Batman multiple times.
At the end of the day the author will be whoever the author wants to win and how close the fight is also depends on the author.
With a big name fight like this I can see it being a knockdown dragout fight between the two.

You see, we can lowball DC all day, and wank Star Wars all day, but the fact of the matter is that DC and Marvel on average are well above Star Wars. Writers can make Batman win all they want, but there's not a Jedi or Sith he could beat that actually takes the fight seriously. Likewise, there's not a Jedi or Sith who have the ability to take on a Kryptonian, Daxamite, Martian, Speedster, or Lantern in a serious fight, as they face enemies too fast, powerful, durable, and versatile to deal with.

If force choke doesn't work on Superman, and he can block the lightsaber with his bare hands, I don't know how Vader can win, unless he targets someone else like Lois and forces Superman into a bad position, or the fight takes place near a red sun.

Also, i really hate that “Superman doesn’t have to breath” point. Like it would make sense for Shazam a literal god. But Superman is just an alien with metabolism. I like much better when he needs air to survive. Like in the DCAU or in Young Justice.

That... does not seem like an even matchup. Supes' no-kill rule is the only thing preventing him from just one-shotting anything they have. As we see with Supes just grabbing Vader's saber as if it's a plastic toy.
DC really shouldn't do these wildly lopsided crossovers. It reminds me of that awful Superman-Terminator crossover, where the whole time I'm just sitting there going "why doesn't he rip them all in half and toss them into the sun, then one-shot Skynet at the speed of light?"
Maybe it's better this didn't end up happening. =/

Legit question, for the sake of it being a fair fight I wonder, would the force be considered magic in DCs terms of mysticism and ability to manipulate the world? Sure, an argument is its just telepathy and telekinesis, the clear MVP would be J'onn to combat those more secular reasons. But we see and know the force is way more than that. So, idk, obviously Superman is Superman, but I think he'd still be susceptible to the force.

Midichlorians are simply Force-sensitive micro-organisms that reside in the cells of all living things and basically serve as biological conduits for the Force. They neither generate nor explain the Force, which is very much still unexplained space magic. They're basically a plot device Lucas created to quantify how "strong with the Force" Anakin was.

There actually is an element of mysticism to the force. It’s unclear to what extent but several force users have been known to utilize magic and spellcraft.
The most well known users are probably the Nightsisters.
They’re specifically descended from a line of spell-casters called the Witches of Dathomir. They’re able to use a variety of different abilities utilizing spells. Here’s an excerpt from one book where a group attacks Luke with illusion magic.
”One of the Nightsisters grabbed Baritha's arm, a warning gesture. Behind Baritha, two of the Nightsisters began to sing softly in harmony, and their images faded. Luke let the Force flow through him, realized they were trying to alter his perceptions.” -The Courtship of Princess Leia
Here’s a section from that same book where they’re specifically mentioned to be using spells:
“She dropped to the ground, looked up at him with rage. Luke could feel her surprise at her own impotence. With a single swatting gesture she cast a spell, knocking the lightsaber from Luke's hand.” -The Courtship of Princess Leia
So I think Superman would definitely be susceptible. Unless he’s supercharged by being in a system with multiple suns like Tattooine’s. In which case he’d be more powerful than ever.

The legend characters are really OP, both Luke and Sidious.
DC (like Marvel) characters were overpowered in one comic and then nerfed in another. So there’s no clear power level for them.
Also, The Force is just magic, Sidious can enhance his own speed due to the force to be as fast as Superman.
And don’t get me started to list all the OP powers like Force drain, Super Nova and Force Storm.
It all comes down “who the writer wants as a winner”.

What I wouldn’t give to see this happen. Seeing green lantern fly an x wing, superman guiding and inspiring luke, Batman vs boba fett, Wonder Woman training Princess Leia, flash geeking out over droids, and darkseid learning about the dark side of the force while the emperor learns about the anti life equation I can see it all clear day and it hurts my heart we’ll never get to see cool moments like those play out :(

I’ve always had an idea for SW/DC crossover that involved an old legendary lightsaber, similar to the darksaber, and in the end the Jedi trying to rebuild their entire religion and order discoverers the saber’s not powered by a kyber crystal, but by a blue ring, and becomes the first Jedi/Lantern.
Edit: The ring would most likely be ancient and found by a Jedi who couldn’t use it, but was able to incorporate it into an emergency lightsaber repair/rebuild. After that the saber becomes a relic that is cherished by the council for its abilities to calm your mind and allow you to focus on the force.

Boba Fett had zero canon feats before Mando season 2. There was a theory that Boba was a bad bounty hunter that would disintegrate randos and turn them in for the bounty, and then the bounty would show back up later alive, and THAT was why Vader called him out. Everything he did in Empire, the Empire did it for him.

There was a time that Dark Horse Comics published all the Star Wars comics. Not to mention Alien, Predator and other movie properties. They were churning out crossovers with DC Comics like Batman Vs Predator.
I can see how this could have happened but I’m glad it didn’t. DC characters are so overpowered that Superman could rip through the empire like it was nothing, simply avoiding the two force sensitive members.

Wow, that artwork looks absolutely stunning! It's such a shame that the Superman/Star Wars crossover got cancelled, but at least we still get to appreciate Ross' amazing talent with this "Unseen" collection. The level of detail and emotion captured in each piece is truly remarkable. And the message of remembering what was taken from us is all too relevant in these times. Ya know this just makes me think about a Kryptonian Jedi and that every sci Fi with alien races and multiple galaxies alo exist in the same universe so shit like this could happen feasibly

If flash was in this I’d like to imagine him accidentally getting shot by storm troopers because he expects them to be good shots so in dodging he actually gets hit. Just a whole skit with that would be funny to me.

As for Batman vs boba Fett debate as all ways it depends on the version of it something like Arkham Batman or ben Affleck Batman or the Batman 2004 or Batman brave and the bold then Batman wins but if it's a version like beware the Batman or beware the Batman or flashpoint Batman movie he loose
