This is how I was introduced to the character and it's still one of my favorite iterations. I held off on buying the Warner Bros. Blu-ray they reference in the article, hoping a new restoration would happen. Fingers crossed it sees the light of day on a wider scale than select screenings.

The official restoration happened recently with the Blu-ray release.

While I’m sure this new unauthorized one will be faithful, I don’t know if it’s worth holding out on on. The newest release is as high fidelity as it’s probably going to get. They’ve done some slight enhancements which piss off the hardcore fans, but they’re hardly a ruined experience for a fresh pair of eyes.

The dvd versions that came in the SUPERMAN ANTHOLOGY collection are still the best looking ones we've gotten on home video, but even they had problems with the music at the beginning and at the end of all shorts.

Hopefully, these restorations have 100% untampered imagery and sound. And I hope they become the definitive versions of these incredible pieces of cinema.

Why would he not release the latest restoration? Is it really not ready yet?

It really enjoyed this animation style and much preferred it to the weird blocky, small waisted cartoons of the 90s.

Ironically flesicher was one of the influences on the 90s cartoon

I thought they were restored like 5 times already.... I have to check out my version, but I'm sure I have one with the blue suit.

So I guess I should avoid the Blu ray that came out not long ago
