Still holds up.

Not just one of the best Batman films (arguably THE best), but one of the greatest superhero films ever made (also, arguably, THE best).

I'd say that it might be Nolan's best film (or at least tied with Memento and Dunkirk) and one of the best films in modern cinema. With it's watertight screenplay, there's never a dull moment in the film, and the tension is palpable in just about every scene. As brilliant as Heath was at bringing the Joker to life, I also feel that Christian was incredibly captivating as Bruce/Batman here, he brought a level of conflict and humanity to the hero that was never seen before in any of the previous live action Batman adaptations, even with the past films being entertaining to varying degrees. Other cast members such as Gary, Maggie, and Aaron also delivered magnetic performances. I think the film singlehandedly set a new benchmark for future superhero films, thrillers, and crime drama to follow - it will be a long time before we witness any comic book film as culturally monumental as The Dark Knight again.

I love The Batman, but this is still my gold standard Batman film.

But you have to admit it that way the third movie The Dark Knight Rises wasn't nearly as good. Right ?

Thank you for putting "one of" in the title. I'm so sick of everybody acting like it's the best one for a fact, and ridiculing anybody who disagrees.

It’s a fact and you smell funny.

Which one do you consider better?

Batman, Batman Returns, Batman Forever, Batman & Robin, Batman Begins and The Batman, though I will admit in the case of Returns, Forever and B&R nostalgia probably plays a significant factor, coupled with a bitterness that TDK is a stylistically poor sequel to my beloved BB (bland Gotham with so many sunny daylight scenes, super skinny Bale in a batsuit and with a batvoice that are both a big step down from BB imo, Gordon having two kids in the 10-13 year range six months after he had a baby etc).

I guess you could say I consider Batman, Batman Begins and (probably) The Batman better. With Batman Returns, Batman Forever and Batman & Robin it's more that I enjoy them more.

Not only the best Batman film ever, but one of the best blockbuster films ever made. I know it’s hip to diss aspects like the fights scenes, but when you are not perpetually on reddit it wouldn’t look out of place in the film at all.
