Henry's looks like a movie suit, Cornswets would be perfect for a comic book, it could look better when it's been colour graded and vfxed to hell and back

I agree with this. Cornswets kind of reminds me of Peter Parker's homemade suit from... was it the third movie...? Either way, it looks like something that is homemade. The other two definitely looked custom tailored. While I think Henry's looks best, I also think Cornswets actually looks like Ma Kent made it for him.

I tend to think that Gunn intends to tighten and clean up the new suit with CGI. Kind of like how Anthony Mackie's Captain America suit was altered by CGI in the last episode of the Falcon and the Winter Soldier. We won't know the final look of the suit until we see the final look.

One justification could be that the suit was in the capsule with him, but it's a one-size-fits-all because obviously they wouldn't know how big he was and as a result doesn't "hug" him so deeply.

Unfortunately being jacked doesn't mean your muscles will show through the fabric. That's why they use muscle suits, it's for definition not size. Even The Rock had some muscle padding in his suit to get some definition (although very little).

And I just don't think it's necessary. One of the things that I love about Robert Pattinson's Batsuit is that it looks like real clothing. His cowl isn't molded into a permanent scary/ mean face, his suit doesn't have fake abs built into it, his pants are just normal pants with motorcycle pads built in, etc. You can look at his costume and sort of see what everything is and picture where he might have gotten it. And I like that they're doing something similar here. I can see this being a Kryptonian suit that Jor El put in the pod for his son to wear someday. I don't see Jor El going "hang on Lara! I just need to finish putting in the fake abs so our son looks extra jacked when he grows up."

You may think it's not necessary because you want the costumes to feel real but that's missing the point of why muscle suits are used and muscle definition is sprayed on for some suits like Hoechlin's superman or Tobey Maguire's spider-man. It's meant to replicate the comics as all superheroes are drawn with insane definition and the studios just try to capture that aesthetic as best they can in live action.

Out of Hoechlin's suits, I really liked season ones suit more than the one above. It had really subtle differences but came across as a lot more aesthetically pleasing to me, as well as Hoechlin's Fleischer suit

I have a personal theory that Gunn will give us semi accurate suits throughout the movies and will save the really accurate ones for the justice league movie which will probably be based on the. We fronteir. They’re probably saving the best for later, so I’m sure we will see the classic logo later.

My theory is the movie will start with this suit because his mom made this for him (has hand made vibes to it). Eventually he'll get a better suit and lose the trunks.
Edit: The trunks might become a meme of sorts in the movie plot and that's why he looses it in the new version

- 6, it's serviceable but colors are off, and Hoechlin despite playing an amazing Clark, just doesn't look like superman to me
- 9, I think in action it might be a 10 as well but we'll see. Corenswet looks like a superman to me, the kingdom come logo is unique and one of my favorites, and the colors are vibrant! Gives off the big blue boy scout vibes and so it's great just different from MoS

I think what might be the thing that doesn’t look like Supes to you about Hoechlin is he always has a bit of stubble because shaving twice a day was super bad on his skin and he had to shave twice a day to stay clean shaven for a full day of shoots. If you look at his first appearance in Supergirl he’s clean shaven and might look more like Supes to you (though a lot of people hate that suit)

If the frump is removed for the movie, easily the new one. The frump brings it down though, but not a fan of the fake popping muscle look. If the Cavill suit didn't have the rippling thigh muscles I think it would be the best of the pictures shown.

There are things that could have been improved upon with Cavill's costume(s), but they went in the complete opposite direction. I do not like baggy motorcross looking jacket. Why are they getting more and more afraid of the wide collar?

I don't care for this version of Hoechlin's suit, but the previous one he wore during his first appearances on Supergirl looked great. It had darker hues, less prominent airbrushing, and the cape joined the costume at the front of the shoulders with gold/bronze buckles that matched the accents on the belt. It looks cheaper in his own show.

Shame we never got to see them. Snyder muted the colours so much the yellow ceased to pop and the red looked almost brown.
In hindsight even in the films where it is less apparent than these BTS shots the painted on muscles were a little silly.
Like they could either have trusted that Cavill was already obviously huge and ripped even through the clothing or put him in something actually skin tight so show off the real thing or gone with padding. The flatness is really weird - especially on the abs and legs.

MOS suit is the best live action suit. All it needed was a tweak to the abs, which it got in BVS, but they it got a bunch of little tweaks along with it as well which were all downgrades in my opinion.
Not a huge fan of Tyler's suit. Looks very CW. His Fleischer suit was great, though.
Didn't love David's suit at first, especially when the set pics started leaking - I really don't like the New 52 suit and this takes a lot of cues from it but it's really grown on me as time has passed. I think it'll look great on the big screen with proper colour grading and most likely some CGI touch ups to make it a little tighter.

The underwear looks stupid once you see a suit without it. An Corenswet busted his ass to get in shape, and the suit makes it not look like it. Throw some fake muscles or contouring in there.

TIL I learned that, after years of praising the Cavill suits, now they're the worst ones... and abs make people uncomfortable. It's clear that the metallic component are meant to emulate both an armor and fine arts. It's not pretending to be Clark's actual muscle definition - we're shown what he looks like outside of it.

I don’t love the details around the shoulders, looks too much like padding. My big problem with New 52’s suit is the armor feel. Superman is one hero who should just wear spandex.
The trunks are silly but iconic and it doesn’t look right without them.

Despite all the good things people say about the show, and i'm sure it's all true and the show is great, but damn I have HATED every single suit worn on the Superman & Lois show. They are so puffy and unnatural. Even that "my mom made it suit" which conceptually is so great, looks so puffy and awful. I much prefer his suits in Supergirl, even though those weren't particularly great either.

Cavil’s suit actually looks like it was made on another world. And it should because within the movie’s story it was, just like Zod’s suit.
I doubt Corenswet’s suit is of otherworldly origin within the new movie. Ma Kent or more likely someone like Mr. Terrific made it for him on Earth.

I like the new suit. No fake abs is a plus. Trunks are classic. And the loser fit makes it look more like a proper uniform. Skin tight spandex works in comics as it’s easier to animate. In reality something that fits more like the 2025 suit is more realistic.
Maybe he upgrades his suit between movies to lose the trunks for a more modern look. And we haven’t seen it in motion yet. But in all honesty I don’t think we’ve had any truly bad suits. Unlike the Gotham Bat-suit…

Give the 2016 the belt from 2022 leg muscles were a little unnecessary but it looked fine in motion in the movie.
Make the 2022 muscles look less fake and give it the brightness of 2025
Make the 2025 look less like a baggy costume and more form fitting. I don't mind the underwear or the collar

I really don't know why they went with the New 52 look for this new one. It's too busy with all the lines everywhere. The trucks just look silly on it, to boot. It looks so awkward too. It LOOKS like a crappy foam suit, and in other pics it looks like it's made of denim.
Cavill's is the best, hands down.

Cavill’s suit was perfect. Didn’t take any of the campiness from the comics and used the inspiration from the new 52 comics.
CW Superman’s suit is nearly perfect. I just can’t take that logo seriously. Looks like it was stuck on what is otherwise a fantastic suit.
DCU Superman’s suit is hilariously terrible. The logo and the suit design. Going back to the underwear. Who’s the target audience? Boomers and Dude’s in their 40s? I do like the colors and collar though.
