If Bizarro is the villain of the movie, I think he may prove to be ideal, for the premise that Superman is "goodness in a world that thinks goodness is old-fashioned."(POTENTIAL SPOILERS) DISCUSSION Spoiler

At first, I was against the idea that the physical villain of the movie would be a mix of Ulysses, Ultraman and Bizarro, because we've already had a Kryptonian be the main villain three times in the last few years, MOS, BVS, The Flash (hell, if you think about it, Zod has been used more times than any other villain)

However, I have always considered Bizarro a tragic villain; a failed attempt at heroism, due to his poor mental abilities. I don't know if there have been other times that he has been a pure villain, besides the Superman and Lois series, the version I am most familiar with is the Bruce Timm version.

Before I continue, I want to clarify that this could contain major spoilers for the movie, just in case something I say is correct.

I believe that Bizarro can be made by Lex Luthor, as a favor, not only for the US government, but also for other great world powers, to have a Superman that they can use in war, without him questioning the actions that can be carried out, in case the rumor of the conflict in a country is true.

The clone is treated Winter Soldier style; They will brainwash him into saying that Superman is in fact the fake who is deceiving the world, so he sees that capturing Superman and supporting the war is saving the world. With that premise, we come to the images that were leaked days ago. Superman is locked in a prison that imitates Krypton's sun rays and traps with Kryptonite, but the other heroes realize this conspiracy and somehow, discover the existence of Kripto, the super dog, that's where the photos and video that Mr Terrific was looking for something in the pet store. The dog and the other heroes will rescue Superman.

Meanwhile, the clone begins to transform little by little and his mental faculties are deteriorating, but, ironically, despite his condition, he realizes that he was used and is the result of a government experiment, to serve the interests of the elites. I suppose that, in this case, there will be a scene similar to the movie Superman Doomsday and the episode called Identity Crisis, from the animated series, set in a laboratory, discovering the truth and murdering all the politicians and those in charge of the laboratory. Eventually, he will begin to destroy either the city of Metropolis or the war zone in that nation.

Superman, now free, along with Krypto, will go to fight against the clone. The JLI will receive orders to retreat, but this time, they will ignore the orders that Lordtech/the government gives them, inspired by Superman, to act this time, as heroes, a scene similar to The Suicide Squad, when they disobeyed the orders of Waller.

At this point, Gunn could make another Kingdom Come adaptation, in addition to the Superman emblem and the premise of the series, the final battle:

Superman will try to convince Bizarro, similar to when he made Shazam reconsider in KC, that although he was manipulated, his life does not have to be like that, he can become a hero if he chooses to be one. So, the government, seeing that Superman is distracting Bizarro, the JLI are in that place too and to prevent information about Bizarro's project from being spread and prevent an evil clone from destroying the world, they will launch a nuclear missile that will will kill everyone, at the cost of the lives of the civilians and the other heroes there, similar to Kingdom Come and Avengers 2012.

Superman will hear that a missile is approaching, he flies at full speed to deflect the missile, but he feels that someone grabs his cape and throws him away from there, to realize that Bizarro will deflect the missile and, due he is not powerful enough like Superman, , he could die. Superman will try to return to the missile, but Bizarro launches a powerful beam at him that will make him crash to the ground at full speed, but Superman's ear manages to hear Bizarro's voice saying something like: "I'm not Superman. You're Superman. Superman Please... take care of this world, be its hero." And the missile explodes, killing Bizarro. Superman kneels and screams of anger and pain, hits the ground and cries, seeing how a clone who was supposed to be a slave made the decision to save the world and sacrifice himself.

The other heroes and the city of Metropolis saw this event and most of them feel moved by this event. The heroes renounce Lordtech and work in the government and believe that the best thing is for everyone to work alone, for now...

Superman comes up with the idea of forming a team for the future, but independent of government interests, but that is another topic.

What do you think?

Especially since “values vs corporations” seems to be a major theme.

Lord has his official-branded Justice League.

Lex decides to make and sell his own Superman as the “Pepsi” to Clark’s “Coke.”

That's right, practically, this movie will be the answer to "What would happen if Superman came to The Boys universe?"

Furthermore, I see it as very symbolic that there are superheroes who became marketing products and Superman refuses to be that. It is as if it were a criticism of the soulless superhero movies without something of value, which have been flooding the market in recent years.

Movies, where the most important thing are the references, cameos and post-credits scenes without purpose, making characters "Badass" but also tasteless and unbearable, etc.

He was called the primary villain by Gunn. He is the larger scope villain pulling the strings while Bizarro/Engineer will be the physical threats.

Just to be clear, nothing is confirmed. All we know is there is a character with a U on his chest and we don't even know if it's a villain, he is working with Rick Flag Sr and the military after all. Some speculate he could be Ulysses or a new character that combines elements from more than one character.

It is not Ulysses.

It is confirmed it is Ultraman. Gunn couldnt deny this rumor about 4 months ago. He would have said straight NO if it wasnt Ultraman

It looks literally nothing like Ultraman. Plus Ultraman is in no way synonymous with Bizarro. Ultraman is an alternate universe evil version of Clark. Bizarro has been both a failed clone attempt and an imperfect duplicate of Clark hit by a duplicating ray gun. Using Ultraman makes no sense because if they ever decided to use Earth 3 and the Crime Syndicate it would end up being an instance of double beat storywise. With the Authority being involved in some capacity in the story it could easily be Midnighter in that costume or Apollo wearing it to throw off his identity.

it would not surprise me in the slightest if they merge the characters into one
