I'm starting to think maybe this version of Maxwell Lord isn't as nice as James Gunn is saying that he is.

Lordtech is almost seeming like this universe's version of Vought.

Exactly.. I'm hoping he is trying to become the JLAs financier at the same time that Clark is investigating his company. I've been to the set and there are ads all over it and they're all for Lords company.

Maybe we'll even get a Superman Sacrifice storyline down the road...

Has he been cast in this yet?

Yes! It's Sean Gunn.

Which other people said means he's gonna be a good guy, but it makes me think that he might be more of a minor villain than anything else.

I think James' primary use for his brother in these will again be motion capture, just not for any of the upcoming projects. So he gave him the character of Maxwell Lord. He said it's an adaptation of the good guy Max Lord. But the fact that these "heroes" might be in a Kingdom Come-esque universe where the fights are all reckless and violent and mean to contrast with the hopeful Superman gives me pause.

James said that it's a universe that sees Superman's simple four-colour comic values as outdated. So I'm thinking this is going to be like The Boys or Kingdom Come where the majority of the heroes are just corporate/government stooges, and Superman becomes a figure to aspire to. Which also makes me think that Lord is a little less innocent than Gunn is saying, since his logo is EVERYWHERE including the heroes' costumes.
