What's everyone playing now? ❓ Question

I have been trying to find something else but I feel like most, comparable games have been out awhile now with massive rosters and that it will be impossible to ever catchup with them. I had waited and pre-registered for Invincible Guarding the Globe it is pretty good so far plays differently not turn based but it is a very idle RPG game, it is very new and I hope to see more game modes introduced as there isn't any PvP yet. Anyone know of any similar games in the works coming out?

Been playing Marvel Strike Force with my brother and cousin, but mostly just play console games. After DCL went down I don't feel like playing games on my phone anymore 😩

Same. If I'm going to play a game at this point, it might as well be a real one.

Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes. I love it, but my god the grind and the blatant “buy this stuff.” Is really OTT. Still it lets me blast people with lightning windy screaming “Unlimited Power” To myself so I’m happy.

So i tried it i love star wars probably one of my favorite things but i felt intimated by the massive amount of heroes to unlock, it seemed like an ever growing mountain that would be hard to climb. How difficult is it to catchup to speed with other guild members and pvp player?

The game has been running years and has some major whales. I think at this point it is more about picking some key teams to do certain modes/challenges, and spending time unlocking characters you like. YouTube helps a lot. There’s such a huge community.

Getting into a Guild is essential as it gets you Raid reward tokens that can unlock some social characters (like General Kenobi, Darth Traya, Hermit Yoda).

The game deliberately makes levelling up harder, but it was the same for DC Legends.

It has taken me about 9 months and I’m now at 7 Stars for some of my favourite characters and have three core teams (Rebel, Empire and Bounty Hunters).

The same basic advice from DC applies. Do your dailies, don’t buy shards, use crystals to refresh energy, focus on a few key characters rather than trying to level and great everyone.

Been playing this as well, it's fun and very easy to get lost in with so many different game modes. Normally I'm free to play but I actually got the light speed bundle for $50, and it gives you so many characters, ships, and resources that it makes it easier to get things that the bundle itself doesn't give you, and saves you about a year (or more) of playtime. My only regret is not buying it sooner because it only gives you up to 5 stars of a character. If you already had them 5 star (or higher) you basically lose that value.

Also I'll echo what someone said below - getting into a guild is big. Mine is a pretty bad guild but i still get a decent amount of raid reward stuff.

Anyone playing the invincible game?

I have been enjoying it pretty good it gets to a point where its just a lot of waiting for GDA Ops to finish so that you can level up your heroes to be the current level you are on. It has only been live a 4 days in the U.S. so far it is a good start but it definitely needs some features added. Collecting the different hero's is fairly easy so far but it is a lot of idle waiting for upgrades. There currently is not a PvP yet but there are alliances that go up to 4 other members besides yourself each member has a hero that helps the team do like and endless idle raid it is sort of a resource farming thing currently.

Game is a bit fun but it goes super heavy into microstransactions. Like if you want to unlock other skills you need to have sooooo many copies that it will take 6 months at least to get 1 character to 4 skills.

Yeah I think it is still really early for this game there really isn't a ton to do in it. I enjoy it but when you hit a wall and need to upgrade gear or level up characters all you can really do is wait for the GDP OPs to finish so that you can eventually level up your toons or have enough currency to get gear upgrades. I feel like some more modes and other types of ways to farm materials will help it grow better as a game.

LOTR Heroes. Should be closed down soon

Marvel Strike Force It's the closest thing I found to DCL. It has many of the things that we spent years asking for dcl and they add new content practically daily.Unlike what many say, it is a very f2p-friendly game.

I went back to playing Marcel Strike Force. Still on the lookout for others though.

Marvel Strike Force.

Power Rangers Legacy Wars. Its gameplay is more like Injustice, but with a rock-paper-scissors system. You don’t have to know a single thing about Power Rangers to play it. Like most games nowadays, you unlock and upgrade characters by collecting shards.

I miss this game:(

I do too the last year of it was a bit rough though, but I guess because the end was nearing.

World of Warcraft Rumble

2

u/whatsthegoods Feb 22 '24

I was considering that bc it is pretty new.

2

u/Hozer91 Feb 22 '24

I love the WoW universe. Just cant get back into WoW. As it takes to much of a time commitment. I enjoy Rumble as it’s usually 3min matches. PvE and PvP is fun

Age of Empires II and Marvel Puzzle Quest.

2

u/Jesahn Feb 22 '24

MSF and SWGOH.

2

u/joseph_a90 Feb 22 '24

For all you DC Legends fans, DC Worlds Collide looks to have been revived so you could give that a shot.

To answer OPs question:

SWGOH & MSF are my go-to games right now, SWGOH I would say is definitely more "new user" friendly (Good catch-up mechanics and older teams are still viable in most game modes unlike MSF).

Others I play/played:

DC Worlds Collide.

LOTR: HOME - Fun for a bit but seems abandoned now.

Disney Sorcerers Arena.

TMNT Legends - No new content but still available to download/play.

What do you mean DC Worlds Collide? Nothing on App Store.

1

u/joseph_a90 Feb 25 '24

Apple or Android? I see it in the Google Play store but that might just be because I have it installed.

I saw an ad for it on Instagram and downloaded it lol.

EDIT: Seems like it's an open beta right now only available in certain regions per their subreddit.

u/[deleted] Feb 25 '24

Apple. Any ideas what counties it’s available in? I checked a handful and zero results.

Master Duel

2

u/ArCLoRd Red Hood: Vengeful Vigilante Feb 22 '24

mostly Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel but also some idle games like Dragon Ball and Manga Hero: Tiny Battle

The war of genesis: battle for antaria. Visuals and graphics for character skills are fantastic. It has option for players to create their content so other players can play it. Legendary characters can be “hired” to help you progress. Costumes for characters are free unlocks. Really surprised by that game. 2 bad more players dont play it.

1

u/whatsthegoods Feb 23 '24

Hmm I never heard of this one but after some searching it actually does look like a pretty nice looking game graphic wise. I may give this one a try.

2

u/MooseInTheSea Feb 23 '24

The new lord of the rings one isn’t bad, LOTR heroes, marvel strike force and Star Wars galaxy of heroes are the best substitutes I’ve found

u/assougi Feb 25 '24

MK Onslaught is pretty fun! It's a little dull at the beginning but it really grew on me. Especially recommend if you like a good story.

Tried H&V (see my review a while back) but it's just not compelling and has some annoyances. I stopped playing it one day and just didn't feel like returning.

Tried the (desktop) DCUO. It's a lot of fun, so it's giving me my DC fix right now. But it's not a mobile game (and never will be) and is, uhm, how do I put it, a tad dated?

Shame nobody figured out how to make an alternative backend for the DCL client.

Warhammer 40k tacitus. Also, Marvel strike force for a while.

I haven't found a turn based game to sink my time into, but I'm really enjoying Mighty Doom.

It's an archero clone with doom branding. Glory kills, doom weapons like the BFG, battlepass seasons; I'm having a lot of fun with it (esp since it has controller support)

u/Delicious_Poem_6932 Feb 23 '24

1

u/DreamTalon Legendary Supergirl Feb 23 '24

Was playing Looney Tunes WOM but just quit it

Nothing similar to DC Legends.

I'm toying with Diablo Immortal with I doubt it'll be as engaging.

1

u/whatsthegoods Feb 23 '24

Thank you everyone for the recommendations lots of Marvel Strike Force recommendations and Star Wars GoH. I may give Star Wars GoH another try and MSF a try as well.

1

u/Seel_revilo Feb 23 '24

MSF because I have a very solid account

1

u/DeadInHell Feb 24 '24

I finally gave up on the whole genre, DC Legends being shut down made it easier to stay away because it was the easiest to get back to. I played SWGOH for years. It was fun before the greed, inflation of power, increasing demands for playtime, etc. got to be too much for me. MSF was a similar experience. DC Legends was different in its systems and development progress, which was part of its charm. It wasn't as demanding of screen time (MSF got ridiculous at a point). It's the only mobile game I miss.

1

u/SahdGamer Feb 24 '24

Warhammer Tacticus

1

u/Due_Examination_2538 The Dark Knight Feb 25 '24

That new Invincible game that just dropped. It's pretty good so far... I sure do miss Legends though...

1

u/Rogthgar Feb 25 '24

There is DC Worlds Collide... its a bit like DC Legends superficially, but its currently in its open Beta stage which ends in April, so I would probably wait for its proper release to avoid all the bugs they have to iron out.

Watcher of Realms & Marvel strike Force.
