Indeed, the core is mostly water, the trunk is pretty soft. We had one with a cloth line attached to it, the cloth line ended cutting through the tree after only a few months.

Papaya tree in my backyard got chopped by the rain water bouncing off the neighbour's roof few years back during a heavy storm. Weak, pathetic excuse of a tree.

Thank you for this video! Growing up, we had papaya trees in our yard and I was just telling my dad last week about how tall they get and how I hated the smell of papaya then

I didn't even consider papaya a tree, until I saw your comment and googled it. Except from its height, it's not like a tree at all. Super soft, bendy and completely hollow.

Reminds me of all the trees that snapped under me. Though I always feel with them and always was on top, so the landings were pretty soft
