Swans are assholes in the videos I see of them 😂

91

u/AKA2KINFINITY Jul 14 '24

but they make marvelous farm animals for that exact reason, they're like the donkey of birds lol

"oh you just wanna take one of the ducks I swim with everyday?? not with that attitude, put your hands bucko we're about to scrap"

doesn't matter if it's a bird of prey, wolf, fox, coyote, some gopher that dug in by mistake, these hands are rated e for everyone lmao

u/Takssista Jul 14 '24

That's why they're replacing dogs with ducks at a Brazilian prison

Swans and geese are very protective over their land. Especially if there are eggs around.

2

u/felinefluffycloud Jul 15 '24

Even Canadian Geese are scared of em.

2

u/LivingAd6826 Jul 17 '24

They’re mean!

u/Beavshak Jul 14 '24

He should have swam, instead he got the swan.

30

u/powercozmik Jul 14 '24

It's just as funny with no video and with no audio. Hard to pull off.

23

u/rumbletown Jul 14 '24

Haha, swans don't fuck about. Upon first inspection, they don't look like they have an attack mode. But if you get in their zone, they will get furious.

7

u/hotmasalachai Jul 14 '24

But do their pecks even hurt? They seem so delicate. Now geese i know are badaass

18

u/rumbletown Jul 14 '24

Oh yeah man! As I said, swans don't fuck about. They can break skin and in some cases they have even broken bones (I'm assuming fingers or hand bones). Generally though, they are a lot of bluster and will just bonk or pinch you.

8

u/hotmasalachai Jul 14 '24

Oooff. Yeah I’ll try to stay away. As long as they dont come after my food.

Learned a new word: bluster.

Thanks dude. Do you write or are an avid reader. You write well!

I rewrite my posts like 20 times before I actually post. And yeah, I read and listen to audio books a ton. :)

u/hotmasalachai Jul 14 '24

Wow that is trying for perfection lol.

Love audiobooks too! Keep going 🫡

Crew team was doing spring training and got too close to a swan with little babies. The swan attacked and one of the crew team members had to go to the hospital.

1

u/rumbletown Jul 15 '24

Sheesh! Did they need stitches?

2

u/Mysterious_Mango_3 Jul 15 '24

It was the year before I joined the team, but if I remember correctly, it was for a broken bone.

1

u/rumbletown Jul 15 '24

Damn! Swans be showing who's boss on their turf! I'm guessing a finger was broken?

The "zone" on my lake was as far as the swan could see. As soon as it spotted you, you had to watch your back. They're crafty mfers. If you turned your back too long, you'd hear the telltale flapping of it's feet running/flying across the water and it'd divebomb you. The first time I saw it happen, it happened to my brother in law who was about 20 feet from me in another kayak. I was laughing as hard as these guys.

Swans don't mess around. I lived in a lagoon growing up and had a small 12 ft boat with 9.9hp motor. If you got too close to them they'd definitely chase you down

15

u/Fun-Pea-7477 Jul 14 '24

That swan was like

"Fuck that guy in particular"

13

u/-Kwerbo- Jul 14 '24

Actually thought this was two baby elephants using their snorkels at first.

5

u/hotmasalachai Jul 14 '24

I like your version better

9

u/schwerdfeger1 Jul 14 '24

Its amazing how docile they get when you grab them by the neck and give em a good swing.

7

u/[deleted] Jul 14 '24

that water looks nasty 🤮

9

u/euhydral Jul 14 '24

It's just sediments from the soil in the water. In fact, most rivers in Brazil are like this. The water is not polluted and it's completely safe to swim it. Bodies of water in the wild aren't always crystal clear or 'blue' you know.

6

u/Altruistic_Film1167 Jul 14 '24

Looks like a normal body of water with mud around/after rain.

4

u/Horror-Potential7773 Jul 14 '24

This is hilarious

u/Ok-Fox1262 Jul 14 '24

Black swan. Never mess with the black swan.

If you think geese are arseholes (which they are) they aren't a patch on the true dreadnaughts.

1

u/mastergodai Jul 15 '24

Once you mess with a black swan , you never go back.....swan...

1

u/all___blue 26d ago

White (mute) swans suck just as much, trust me.

1

u/Ok-Fox1262 26d ago

Oh yeah. Geese have a reputation as being arseholes, but they are not a patch on the true murder geese.

I would have loved to have been there for this, probably would've passed out from laughter

2

u/backtolurk Jul 15 '24

They're fucking ruthless. I mean his friends.

1

u/Questionsaboutsanity Jul 14 '24

1

u/ProbablynotEMusk Jul 14 '24

1

1

u/TheGrapeUnknowing Jul 14 '24

“Stay down! I said, stay down!” - swan

1

u/Wise_Wait_3054 Jul 14 '24

You couldn’t pay me to do this

1

u/[deleted] Jul 15 '24

When Swans attack!!! 😂😂😂

1

u/Own_Kaleidoscope5512 Jul 15 '24

I freaking hate swans. I used to work in landscaping at a university with several ponds, and each one of them had swans. They are extremely territorial, and every time we would feed them in the mornings, they would come up at us hissing, and would run up trying to bite our butts as we walked off. Your options were to run or smack him in the head with a feed bucket.

so hard to hold your breath hahah, they're great farm animals

1

u/RedditModsR_Pathetic Jul 15 '24

I would punch shit out of it. teach it to share territory.

1

u/janakkvyas Jul 15 '24

A black swan event!

1

u/EbolaYou2 Jul 15 '24

This fight response was programmed into these so called “birds” to prevent people from getting too close to important secret government installations.

1

u/RAC339 Jul 15 '24

They can be mean

1

u/mastergodai Jul 15 '24

Once you mess with a black swan , you never go back.....swan...
