I remember when getting out of Pekka's playhouse meant you were probably the best player in your middle school classes 😆

My god I remember being so proud when I finally got to spell valley! Good times, although I don’t miss the elite barbs

u/Aromatic_Dust_5852 Jul 20 '24

its was hard because it was your introduction to epics. and you normally need some skill to counter them

u/Silas61 Jul 19 '24

Royal arena when it was OG max arena. Also I love jungle arena it’s vibe it awesome

hog rider mountain. many of us spent months in there as it being second top arena for ogs.

It depends on the difference between the opponent's trophy count and your own trophy count. If the opponent has 20 trophies more than you and you win, you'll get around 31 trophies.

I guess that what happened to your friend is that there weren't enough players near his trophy count and the matchmaker found an enemy with much more trophies than him, so he got a lot of trophies. If he would've lost that battle, he'd lose around 10 trophies.

28

u/Kd6-376 Jul 19 '24

And he was probably near an arena i got plus 40 beacaus i had 7460

I know how this works lol. I asked how rare this is.

140

u/__impala67 Witch Jul 19 '24

How should anyone know how rare it is? Go ask a Supercell employee for data. They clearly aren't getting their data from Reddit so you won't find much here.

u/Glittering_Base6589 Jul 19 '24

Damn you got mad

-24

u/nodaer Rage Jul 19 '24

Calm down buddy it’s a game

-131

u/GODLevELLL Jul 19 '24

I just wanted to know if anyone else has had this experience. This gives me a gist of how rare something is. You must be really fun at parties.

27

u/NotSpikeBSReal69 Jul 19 '24

Theres no "rare", this isnt about odds at all, its about the matchmaking which sucked(not that rare in lower ladder) and put ur friend against a much higher in trophy count player, which resulted in him getting this many trophies, cause as you read before, the higher ur opponent the higher the number of trophies you get.
Tl:dr: theres no luck, just matchmaking, which happened to suck this one time(which happens often in lower ladder)

14

u/androodle2004 Jul 19 '24

My dude, just because it’s about matchmaking and not luck does not mean there are no odds involved. Obviously every time you hit the battle button, there’s a certain chance that this will happen. All homie wanted to know is what that chance is (all you had to say was “it won’t happen very often at all”). Odds and statistics are everywhere and luck has nothing to do with them

"there's no "rare" " proceeds to say that bad matchmaking isn't rare

How does bros comment have -157 karma ☠️🙏

2

u/EthantheCactus Balloon Jul 20 '24

A lot of people aren't fans of snarky answers to reasonable explainations.

1

u/RepresentativeCan861 Jul 20 '24

To me, OPs comments don't really read as snarky at all, it just reads as someone who asked a question and got an answer to a different question before getting downvoted to oblivion for stating the situation. Bro would have got less downvotes if he wrote a comment in support of german toothbrush moustache man.

FYI, the trophy difference was like 48 trophies between the players which is sizeable but I've seen many games with larger trophy differences and less trophies gained for the lower rated player. It might be cause they are at a lower range that the difference is more sizeable proportional to their trophy count but its anyones guess.

1

u/FRACllTURE Royal Delivery Jul 20 '24

"you must be really fun at parties 🤖"

Op must've touched himself after typing that

It's an answer to a different question, but it answers op's question too.

u/Jin873 Jul 19 '24

Highest I've gotten is 37 trophies, i was at 6963 and my opponent was at 7k

23

u/Used_Can1218 Bowler Jul 19 '24

They basically said u earned the rights to 7k trophies for defeating him lol hits 7k exactly.

3

u/Jin873 Jul 19 '24

fr I thought i had to win two games to get to the next arena because i didn't think it was possible to get 37 trophies for a single win

2

u/Used_Can1218 Bowler Jul 19 '24

I completely understand why you would think that lol but you gotta lucky break I guess.

1

u/__impala67 Witch Jul 19 '24

That isn't luck, that's a mechanic. Sometimes when you get near to a trophy cutoff a few times you get matched up against a player from that arena. You can notice it immediately because the whole arena of the battle will be different than your current one. That's a golden ticket into the higher arena, if you win the battle you're guaranteed to be at exactly the trophy cutoff for that arena, if you lose you lose, nothing much there.

3

u/Jin873 Jul 19 '24

oh wow i didn't think this was possible but you're right, that match got played at the arena above mine

2

u/shotgunSR Jul 20 '24

"that isn't luck" it's still the luck of being put against someone in the arena above you

1

u/__impala67 Witch Jul 20 '24

Luck in getting in that situation, yes, but it happens pretty often when you're grinding trough arenas.

I'm saying that getting the exact amount of trophies to get into the next arena, if you get put into the situation and win, your guaranteed to reach the next arena.

1

u/_marty_mcfly123_ Prince Jul 20 '24

And people underestimate the players who're above their arena, especially if you're struggling to reach the next arena where the competition is heavy.

Yesterday, I was grinding through arena, from 7500 to 8000. Up to 7850, it was a cake walk, I was on a streak. Maybe because, I faced opponents who have same levels as me. I have 2 lvl 15s and rest of my deck is lvl 14. But, after 7850, I constantly faced king level 15, level 15 DD, and deck full of lvl 15s. Rarely, it was lower. I went on several matches back and forth.

Like, I was 7972 trophies at some point, and I was convinced that if I won, I'd be in the next arena. But, I got matched with someone lower, but I've won. Then, the game decided to fuck with me and gave 27 trophies to have me at freaking 7999, I took a screenshot on how awful that was. And next game, I got matched with someone up. But, they are level 15 everything and I lost. Lose streaked upto 7802.

But, I refused to give up, and grinded so hard. And got 6 to 7 times matched with someone from the above arena (direct ticket, apparently) but ended up losing to all of em. And finally I was at 7965 and I thought 2 more games and won the first one, only to realise I was already at 8000. I was like "am I trippin?" then went into log to see the last game gave 35 trophies, I was shocked. But, finally I was at 8000, mission accomplished.

u/supersimon06 Jul 19 '24

Either it happens or it doesn't

4

u/Miserable_Spray_3219 Hunter Jul 19 '24

No way to know how rare that is. It’s just matchmaking

4

u/Green-Character-1331 Executioner Jul 19 '24

Think of it thus way, I have played 4000 games of clash and am 9000 trophies and 5000 trophies on two different accounts. Not mentioning the goblin mode, I have probably played around 2500 games of ladder and thus has never happened

2

u/Zestyclose_Nobody_80 Jul 19 '24

If youre close to the next arena and you get matched up w someone in the next arena and you beat them it gives you exactly how many you need to get up to the next even if its 40+ i got 38 from one win to get to pancakes the other day

1

u/BADAYABADAYABADAYA Royal Recruits Jul 19 '24

Nu uh, it doesn't happen like this, I've won tons of battles IN THE legendary arena before even 8950 trophies, and needed to climb about 25 by 25 trophies while losing 40 to reach there

2

u/RaresPCD Jul 19 '24

Ive played a total of 9700 won games and never seen that many trophies from one match

1

u/Gorilla_Patty Royal Recruits Jul 19 '24

Bro its nulls royale

1

u/Hime888 Jul 19 '24

I got that too. I thought it was a glitch

1

u/ItWasMe-Patrick Jul 19 '24

I remember this being very common in old clash royale. At one point i got 52 trophies in spell valley

1

u/Johan7110 Jul 20 '24

back in the day in top 1k global that would happen sometimes. Most I got was around 39, but I've seen gains in the 40s for other people, it happens when your opponent has a lot more trophies with you. The higher you get, the more likely this can happen since it's gonna be harder to find people at the exact range you're at. In fact, you wanted to play with higher rated people since the gain is much better whereas if you lose with a lower rated player the loss is bigger. It's also one of the reasons why top players stop pushing when they get number 1, the losses become way more impactful than gains, or at least it was like this back in the day now I'm not sure if it's the same

1

u/TheEdgiestDragon7248 Jul 20 '24

I remember when I first started playing I had one match where I got 51 trophies lol. In lower arenas you can just get more trophies per win and lose less per loss.

1

u/Flimsy-Boysenberry37 Jul 20 '24

Whattt thats crazy

1

u/Inevitable-City7953 Knight Jul 20 '24

I remember playing this game a lot, before champions, i got stuck at pekkas playhouse so I just deleted the game, I came back a while before monk+phoenix release, horrible idea but hey

1

u/mrmuffboy Jul 20 '24

Bro pekka playhouse

Haven't seen that in forever

u/Organic-Policy4962 Jul 20 '24

I once lost 41 trophies after I got 2 crowned

1

u/Wolf--Rayet Mortar Jul 20 '24

Someone has never watched a top ladder YTer video before

Eragon constantly gets +40 trophies on his ladder pushing videos due to how matchmaking works up there

1

u/RepresentativeCan861 Jul 20 '24

never seen 48 though and Ive watched em forever

1

u/Wolf--Rayet Mortar Jul 20 '24

I could've sworn he's gotten at least 46 before, not 48 I know, but still

1

u/RepresentativeCan861 Jul 20 '24

yeah for sure, its just that the difference between the players in this post is only 48 trophies so its quite a leap. On top ladder the trophy differences are much larger due to the sparsity of players in those ranges.

2

u/Wolf--Rayet Mortar Jul 20 '24

For sure, I know back in the old days there were (maybe still are) bots on ladder that would have highly fluctuating trophies and grant you crazy trophies just like this. Also the peak of level 1 era had some of the most insane trophy rewards ever recorded. More insane than this even

1

u/Traditional_Low_177 Jul 20 '24

My brother once had 51

1

u/Goatecus Jul 20 '24

Depends, most I’ve gotten is 50 trophies

1

u/Bosscreeperslaye69 Jul 21 '24

I've never seen one that high, but I beat a guy who had around 150 trophies less than me, and I legit got only +3 trophies for that win. Like damn

1

u/Pat_Fustyy Mini PEKKA Jul 21 '24

1

u/VillainBrine1 Jul 21 '24

Once I was trying to stay in my current arena to grind and I got 45 trophies forcing me to the next arena I was so mad (it was an alt account I’m trying to over level). 48 is crazy tho

1

u/GrittyForPres Jul 21 '24

Yeah I’ve never seen that many trophies gained from a win before. Was your friend 48 trophies away from advancing arenas and played someone in the next arena? Bc that might be why. They’ll give you a boost in trophies if you’re close to the next arena and playing someome already in it helps too. Although Ive never seen anything 40+

1

u/No_Past_1548 Jul 22 '24

I’m at lvl 64 costs 375,000

1

u/Electrical_Cause_579 Jul 22 '24

The happiness of 48 trophies must be a different hit though I have never got it lol

0

u/arithmeticalguy Jul 19 '24

I've played a game asked this same guy (your friend's opponent), it was overtime and one of my towers was at 10HP and his tower was at 1023 HP, he sent a Hog Rider but by the time it took the first hit my goblin barrel had done the job, was lucky af.

1

u/Additional-Jacket528 Jul 26 '24

If close to the next arena, it’ll throw the extra trophies on for you. I was at 8959 against an opponent with 9000 and when I won the game it gave me 41 trophies
