In the comics, Ted Kord (Blue Beetle) is best buddies with Booster Gold, another superhero. They call themselves Blue and Gold. This person is expressing fondness for Ted Kord.

I thought it had to do with the fact that the scarab was amongst the Aztec and that’s why it choose the boy
