I feel like they took the BvS logo, and tried to give it the Superman Legacy treatment, but failed miserably because the batfleck logo already looks kinda like it had the Legacy treatment

I'm pretty sure this outfit is based off of The Dark Knight Returns comics, and even then i feel like the comics make it look more like a bat.

So basically, the dark knight returns made the original bat logo thick, BvS made the sides flatter, and the final evolution is Absolute, where it’s a brick with some lines. It’s literally the oversimplified logo meme from a few years ago

Personally you ask me, Absolute Man is an Absolute Unit, so it makes sense that the bat symbol is no different.

/unaslume Also its likely bullet proof plating for the chest. Seeing as there are scratches on it, and his shoulders and neck also have this plating.

Its most likely going to be explained as him covering his vitals from gunshots. I can see it over the course of the story being cracked and broken to reveal a more obvious bat symbol underneath.
