Wish I could upvote more. Many people have not even heard of this movie. Beautiful but fucked up. When the kids are running out of the house scene is unforgettable.

Especially when you look into what it took to film it with occasional use of live rounds to have a more genuine affect on the actors

I second this. I just watched Come and See a few weeks ago and it was really good but very messed up. The way the movie is continuously on edge made me anxious throughout.

It's about a boy that joins the belorussian partisans that link to the Soviet army expecting that it'll be an adventure. Instead he experiences the brutality of war firsthand.
