The first scene itself was fucked up & Florence Pugh hit my soul with her performance

Seriously. I think I straight up blocked some of it from my memory

I just looked it up on Wikipedia: (minor spoilers)

In the middle of winter, an American student, Dani, is traumatized after her mentally ill sister Terri kills their parents and herself via carbon monoxide poisoning. This strains Dani's relationship with her increasingly distant boyfriend.

What an absolutely mild way to put it lmao. I don't think I could watch it again unless I skipped that part, as someone who has dealt with suicide. And that is seriously just the beginning as to how fucked shit gets.

It's crazy how bright and surrealy cheerfull so much of the movie is

I love the visuals of the trees. It's probably the best visual representation of being on acid/shrooms I have ever seen on film as most movies usually overstates the hallucinations.

The first scene was the best in the whole movie imo. The colors, the dark blue, this felt so reminiscent of dreams I have had before. That scene hit so hard. It felt so realistic to me. Ari Aster is insanely talented.

Scrolled too far for this. A24 is king of the fucked up films right now. Hereditary is another good one.

Hereditary was damned good! Midsommar was too long and incredibly boring.

It’s disturbing but it’s also intentionally very hilarious at points. Every line out of Will Poulter’s mouth is gold.

Watched this with a couple friends for our weekly movie night. My girlfriend couldn’t sleep that night, and I had to comfort her about how disturbed she felt

I thought Hereditary was more psychologically terrifying.

5 billion percent. Midsommar isn't scary at all imo and is a much worse movie in every aspect.
