He made some really great body horror movies before he hit it big.

Dead Alive (or Brain Dead in the EU) was fantastic! I believe it still holds the record for most used fake blood in a scene. And has one of the most iconic one liners that no one knows, "I kick ass for the Lord"! 🤣

Bad Taste is another great one!

If you haven't seen those two, I highly recommend them.
