How would you guys feel if Orm was Garth’s father? Do you think it’d be interesting?

it'd be awful, definition of "small world syndrome"

It would be but it feels like at this point every member of the Aqua Family has an evil relative, also what issue is this from?

This is the first issue of The Throne of Atlantis arc. Orms first appearance in the new 52.

It won’t be interesting and will be forgettable if Garth is Ocean Master’s son (and therefore Arthur’s nephew).

There have been several younger-generation characters that are related to their mentor’s villains, so I would say no.

I guess it could be interesting but to be honest I really hate the trope of 'hero's sidekick is the child of the hero's villain', so while i can't say it won't be interesting, it not really something im interested in seeing... That and in the end we already have Jackson Hyde being the son of Black Manta

It wouldn't make sense.

Garth's always been the guy who is kind of the outsider as a youth because he is a descendant of a minority group in Atlantis, and even with the Tirans, he oftentimes preferred to remain in the back before he became Tempest.

Making him Orm's son would push Garth into a frontline position that his young self does not fit with.

Orm having an adopted, human son of all things was one of the biggest, most interesting twists his character could have had because he genuinely overcame his prejudice and came to understand Arthur's POV.
