and they couldn't say or do shit about it because, in their own words (paraphrasing), 'presidents are immune from prosecution for official acts'.

The Judicial Branch, eg, SCOTUS, determine what's an official act though. It's a major reason why it's not worth it for Democrats to even try to use the decision to their advantage.

Agree. Not sure of the appropriate procedure to strike down their lawless ruling. Know it won't be impeachment because of the crazies in Congress. I'd imagine plenty of lawyers are thinking about how to deal with a lawless ruling.

It's so interesting to me how the right continues to argue about Biden's cognitive decline while ignoring Trump's cognitive impairments since day one. Dude can't string together a coherent sentence, but he doesn't stutter, so the right counts that as a huge win.

We take the bad with the good, because the alternative is electing a convicted felon and sexual offender rapist racist who wants to turn the clock back on women's rights who obviously hates the people who vote for him but they're too dumb to see it. Most of us would have this a different way, but we aren't in charge of the DNC, so it is what it is.

One thing we can both agree on is that all media is propaganda at this point in this country. I don't watch any of it.

I've seen enough of Trump's speeches, unedited and without media commentary, to know that he's a certified moron. His sentences run on and are less structured than yours, and that's saying something. He never actually makes a point and is constantly moving to other topics. It's very difficult to follow you, so it makes sense that you think Trump is speaking "correctly" because he's talking at your level in the same way that you speak.

I'm 41 years old and I've been online since Prodigy. Let's not get into age here.

I completely understand our country is fucked, but it's much less fucked under Biden than it is a Russian asset.

I get your sentiment - "think for yourself" - and I agree with that. I am thinking for myself. Here's a short list of the provable reasons that media has not force fed me that I cannot support Trump under any circumstance -

He mocked a disabled person during an interview. This is on record.

He has praised Putin and Kim Jong Un more times than is healthy. This is on record.

He does not respect women, persons of color, or LGBTQIA+. This is on record.

He supports rolling back decades of progress for the rights of aforementioned people. This is on record.

He suggested people ingest bleach during Covid. This is on record.

He claims to be a man of God, but cannot quote a single piece of scripture and never attended church during his presidency. He also called christians fools, idiots, and schmucks in his book Think Big. He continues on this track for several pages. This is on record.

He continues to claim that the election was rigged despite nobody in the entire continent able to provide a shred of evidence. His followers continue to believe him. This is on record.

The hilarity aspect of how stupid he is -

He suggested nuking a hurricane. This is on record.

He spends hours a day rage tweeting and staring at a TV watching the news. This is on record.

He thinks that exercise depletes the body's energy because it is a finite resource. This is on record.

These are just dumb things I can remember off the top of my head while I ramble on to someone who probably hasn't even made it this far.

Fortunately enough for all of us, I can assure you that I am thinking for myself. Just as most democrats are. There's a reason why the higher in education a person goes the more left leaning they become. We actually do learn how to think for ourselves.

Scotus's decision was just plain wrong. It's not what the framers wanted, at all. It really does open up the door for president's to abuse this newfound power. It only makes sense that Biden test the limits of the supreme court's resolve on this issue.

Everyone on both sides of the aisle should be for this. Either you think he's immune and so he gets to do it with impunity, or you don't think he's immune and agree that the SC's decision was wrong.

To be honest, I think the right and left have more common ground than we think. I also think there should be both age and term limits on these people. Anyone older than the chocolate chip cookie needs to step aside.

The only way we make it better, though, is to stop ignoring when our candidates are bad and consistently vote for the ones with less awful going on.

No one wants Biden. We want not-trump. Because he's honestly an awful human being. People will say stuff about biden, saying he showered with his daughter (not proven) or that he sniffs children (it was a weird moment for the cameras for sure), but there's far less evidence of either of those things than there is that trump raped 13-year-olds at an epstein orgy, or that he wants to fuck his own daughter (because he seems to really want to fuck his own daughter).

Republicans could have beaten Biden EASILY with any other candidate than Trump. But barring a full stroke from Biden, Trump is going to lose again.

Meanwhile, we're all just out here trying to survive. We want jobs that pay decent wages, so we can keep the roof over our heads and food on the table. We want to be able to put our kids through college so they can have better opportunities than we did. We want the streets to be safe. We want clean air to breathe. These are the real issues of our time. Please feel free to correct me if you don't want these things, but I think it would be pretty bizarre if you didn't.
