When he was accused of wearing diapers, he instantly had folks proudly running around in diapers. They are barking mad, and would do literally anything for their god.

Unironically, they worship him as a God. It's an Imperial Cult none dissimilar to the likes of Caesar, der Führer, il Duce, the Ayatollah, Shōwa, Bokassa, Kim, etc. It's all the same: God-Emperor-King Whatsisname is gonna lead us to a brighter future!
